The T2 will give you a clearer image and battery life of around 4-5 years of constant on. the RMR has a very good battery life too but it also has the fiber optic/ tritium option. Both are battle tested, both will serve you well. Cowitness has its draw backs. If your optic gets damaged or muddy both sight and irons are out of commission. If you run a low mount on the rail all you need to do is flick a lever and you have your irons. personally I run a low QD mount RMR because I like running the stock collapsed. I have a BKC front sight and the triangle RMR.
I can get a Benelli m4 for $1799 right now.
Not sure why people are willing to pay $600 and up for a c-stock. Just buy a m4 with c-stock, and swap it out with your standard stock and sell the new m4. Even at a discount, still much cheaper than paying say $1000 for a c-stock.
There's no m4 shortage. I was at three Benelli dealers in my area all have stock.
Anyway, no beef in this, just the economics don't make sense.
Another option would be the Trijicon SRO.
It has a larger sight window than the RMR. If you pair that with a Jagerwerks BROS shield, you can harden that setup so it's gtg. It mounts to the same footprint as an RMR, and top loads a battery vs the bottom loading RMR
The bolt seats very early in the cycle. You have significant carrier movement prior to any unlocking/bolt rotation. I agree that it needs to go back to benelli, just wanted to touch on this.
I’d send it back rather than chance shooting it like that. The bolt might not be seating fully into battery when the bolt is forward due to that alignment issue. As Unobtanium mentioned, something is likely machined out of alignment.
The bolt should be centered properly. My guess is Benelli will replace the bolt carrier group and the barrel assembly.
Unfortunately it will take several weeks to have corrected.
You won't get any cowitness with the stock rail. Just buy the T2 now and rail mount it for now and try it. TBH, you're not going to war and the T2 is rugged enough with enough power reserve to not need cowitness redundancy. If however you later do want that backup sight, then maybe the scalar mount will be back in stock.
I'm not sure how lenient Benelli is with their warranty stuff, but I wouldn't have taken a file to anything. Should have contacted them and sent it straight back...
I will just say that the guy and his wife are very nice. It seems like a small business and they are doing there best to make high quality tubes for a huge market. So, it may take time, but you are giving your money to real people and not a corporation.
