  1. For some guns, yes. Water Displacer, the 40th formula made by the inventor, was created to prevent water from staying in contact with metal. There are many, many, better products out there now. I use BreakFree CLP and my guns do not rust. mudhen - CA
  2. Does it matter if the choke tube is Crio or not? Thought I read something in the manual saying only to use Crio tubes. I did not see this in the Primos description. Put it in the freezer before going hunting! mudhen - CA
  3. Primos Jellyhead .660. Rhino 1.5" .660 is close behind. Yes, I can confirm it is normal. Some SBE's never shoot light loads. All mine have, but all have been broken in with 3.5" turkey loads. mudhen - CA
  4. That sounds totally normal for any economy brand of steel shot. I have cut open many Win Experts and other cheap steel loads and they all look like the crap that get sorted out for being irregular... mudhen - CA
  5. different subject. The SBE /SBE II slug barrel requires the use of a modified forearm. The slug forearm works with the regular barrel though! There are no comments from Benelli in their catalog and/or website that indicate the need for any specific equipment when changing barrel lengths. mudhen - CA
  6. First off, enjoy TM's 2005/2006 price while it lasts. Kent just sent out the letter announcing the 40%+ price increase. New MSRP will be closer to $30/10 pack. I don't exactly get Tucker's discussion as many shell makers use different sized shot cups. The shell holds what it holds, pretty simple stuff. I shot maybe 600 rounds of Kent TM in that last two seasons. I was not impressed right off, and pretty much just shot up what I had to get rid of it. I think Kent makes a poor shell overall, steel and/or TM. I think they are slow, the brass stinks, and their loading process is inconsistant at best. 99% of my shell related malfunctions are with Kent products. But, since there are really no other non-toxic non-steel solutions right now, I'd say buy the TM @$20 per box and see what it does in your guns. mudhen - CA
  7. There is always a chance, but I'd think a slim to none chance in this case... mudhen - CA

  9. Primos Jellyhead or Rhino - in .660 - with Winchester XR's, has worked well for me so far. mudhen - CA

  11. I think anyone who is not happy with any reply here, good, bad, or indifferent, should ask Benelli USA for a full refund of the dues they paid to be a member here. mudhen - CA
  12. I use Plat Tips in all my slug guns & muzzleloaders. Good choice! mudhen - CA
  13. Don't buy one. They are not 100% reliable. May I suggest: www.mossberg.com www.hr1871.com www.maverickarms.com mudhen - CA

  15. You are incorrect. http://www.surecycle.com/default.asp 'Benelli Crio Choke' Just don't shoot large hard shot through a tight Terror - chokes can bulge. mudhen - CA

  17. I've been buying Benellis parts since 1991 with no problems. http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=930870&chrSuperSKU=&MC= http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/catsearch.aspx?k=benelli+gel+pad&ps=10&si=True But I don't disagree that $90 is just stupid. Come on Benelli mudhen - CA
  18. Well, I hate to tell you, but the Sims pad is not a slip in. Not even close It comes with a cheap $.05 adaptor that lasts about 3 x being removed for access to the stock nut. The pad works just fine, nice actually, but I hate the fact that it cannot be easily removed I'll keep mine for turkey season and use the factory Gel pads for duck season when I'm taking the gun apart more to remove water and clean. mudhen - CA
  19. It shoots high by design. Once you figure it out, most like the feature. Watch how Tom Knapp shoots birds and you will see how he leads the birds and shoots under them. C was not low enough for me, and Benelli does not make a D for the SBE II. I shaved the A and added it to the C. It's ok, not great though... For me, my SBE II shoots higher than any other Benelli I have owned. mudhen - CA
  20. Maybe E-Bay? Most will be well used as they are about 10 years old. mudhen - CA

  24. Given the success I've had with many dealers and smiths, I am unimpressed with this boast. I'll side with all the above posts from folks that know how to care for the particular firearm they purchased. The black finish on Benellis, Brownings (Stalker), etc. all need some protective maintenance. My Stalker stocks turn gold w/o Breakfree CLP What the heck does the infamous crap-making KoO have to do with the discussion of keeping the budget Benelli black finish from rusting? I hope you read your smith manuals a little better than you do websites mudhen - CA
  25. You have installed the D-rings incorrectly. The D-ring fits onto the trigger guard pin bushing only one way - with the back of the D fitting into the slot cut in the bushing. I can almost 100% guarantee that you did not reassemble your Nova correctly. With the D-rings properly installed, and the trigger guard pins properly installed, there is no way for the pins to just fall out. mudhen - CA
