  1. You mentioned he went to a place where they have BEEN feeding, would it be possible to set up close to that feeding spot? It's much easier to get a turkey if you already where he wants to be. Just a suggestion..
  2. I have a Gobble Stopper on mine and am very happy with it. It is lightweight, and I can still see under it to my fiber-optics. It is also cool to be able to change between red and green reticles. The green is nice when the light is low and the sun hasn't come all the way up yet. The intensity can be changed to a point that the reticle is transparent and you can actually see the bird through it. Another neat feature is the spare battery holder on top of the turret. You always have a spare within reach in case you get into a jam.
  3. I'm just hoping for that "Gotta get the latest, greatest" frenzy, that gets people to dump their SBEII's for like $700, in order to go get a Vinci!!!
  4. Since not all turkey hunters are comfortable with mouth calls, which friction call would you run when the clouds turn dark, and the rain starts to fall?
  5. TG950X is the number for the one I prefer. I'll pm you some additional info
  6. This sight combo can be found for $20-$30 iff you look around at Bass Pro, Cabelas, or The Mart The rear sight clamps down by way of four screws that don't come in contact with the finish. This is easily taken off, and put back on. I choose the plain front sight, instead of the big hooded one. Just my .02 http://www.truglosights.com/content/products/firearm/turkey/tru_bead_turkey.asp
  7. Adjustable fiberoptic sights are available for very affordable prices, and will help you out. It will also make your gun a dedicated "turkey specialist" for the task at hand. The sights can be easily removed when it's time to go wingshooting, if and when that is what you want to do. Check out TruGLO's line at www.truglo.com
  8. It is truly amazing to see just how much of a beating one person can take. Where is Joe Pesci when you need him. I think he is the only one who can deliver the message.
  9. Looks like the Spammers are starting to come out of the woodwork again! Who's turn is it to clean out the filter this time? lol:p
  10. The order that you stated is correct. M1 threads at the very end, M2 threads a little bit down inside.
  11. I myself shoot 3in 1 5/8 #6's in my M1 with a Primos Tightwad .655 choke tube or a Truglo Strutstopper Xtreme .643. Both of these give me great results up to 50yds. I don't usually shoot that far, but its great knowing I could get the job done if I have to.
  12. Tucker, I would kill to use one of those up on the stage in a contest for doing my tree yelps! I imagine that thing is killer for doing the up close stuff:) Slickbricky, There are some fantastic calls that are available for less than $20. The Primos Power Crystal is a nice call, as well as the MAD Aluminator, and some of the H.S Strut calls. I invite you to check out the newest slate-type offering by Quaker Boy called The Trifecta. It has three different surfaces: aluminum, slate, and ceramic. This is like getting three different calls in one. Cabela's should have them for a very reasonable price if it strikes your fancy Here is a link to peep it out. http://www.quakerboy.com/store.php?crn=219&rn=557&action=show_detail The most important thing is to find a call you like. If you are able to go to a Cabela's store closer to turkey season, they usually have a bunch of models of the different manufacturers calls that you can try out.
  13. What kind of deals did you find?
  14. No prob. Turkeys and ice skating? That sounds kinda like beer and Luckey Charms! Or a romantic dinner at Burger King:p In a few more weeks the fever will REALLY kick in..
  15. Un my area it sells for around $150+/- Cabela's was selling the stock, but IDK if they have APG. I bought mine from my local Benelli dealer.
  16. I'm not associated with them in any way, so that choice is on you.I am a customer and I use their products only because I like them. They get money from my pocket just the same as they do yours. Either way, I will still be shooting H13 this Spring, unless something else strikes my fancy.
  17. I'm sure they hang on your every word, losing sleep every night wondering if they will hear from you or not..
  18. The Red hulls with stars stamped on the brass will be in my vest until the Gold hulled ones surface. Just keep your eye on this one.
  19. One thing is going to have to happen to make this test totally objective is to, after collecting the data from the bench test, is to shoot the gun from a sitting "turkey hunting position" to see how it relates in real world shooting conditions. The shim has been changed, so a new batch of bench data must be collected before doing so. I have seen massive differences in POA and POI between bench and "turkey stance". If your ultimate goal is to flatline gobblers, the second test is the one that matters most.
  20. http://www.dedduck.com is pretty tight..
  21. They're charging $10 per raffle ticket, just to win the chance to have the oppertunity to pay $2,000 for the gun:D Mark my words: you will hear the term "limited availability" come into play many times at your dealer and from CS. The translation to these two words: We are going to R@pe your wallet for a long time to come with this one!
  22. I love the stuff. Word on the street is that there is going to be a higher velocity version in the near future. The current speed of 1,090 fps is a little low for my taste, but I can't say too much because my freezer has a lot of meat in it from those "slow" loads! Choke wise, my two Benellis, and my 870 seem to love the two Primos offerings: The Tight-Wad, and The Jelly Head
  23. Man, and everything was going so well in here! Dudes are starting to weird out..
  24. The weird thing is, when you shop many choke mfrs. sites, they mostly are all rated for all turkey loads, listing Hevi-Shot in the mix, using it as a generic term for all of the new exotic "hevier than lead" shot, but then specifically state "No steel shot". I wouldn't sweat it too much, if you really want a KI choke, just go for it. If you aren't willing to risk it, The Jellyhead, TruGLO, Tite-Wad, and Carlson's tubes will be waiting for you. Any one of these will make feathers fly, and even save you a few bucks. Remember, turkey hunting is hard enough as it is, to be also worrying about your gear letting you down. I wish you luck, and invite you to keep in touch as the season progresses. You should check out the forum on Quaker Boy's website and hang with me and some other cool guys, you will be able to get some more answers there, and even pick up some fun tips! www.quakerboy.com/forums
