  1. Well, I patterned the chokes. X-Full BK: Did pretty good out to 25 yards, at 30 yards there was a very noticeable donut pattern with 9-pellet 2.75" OO Buck. With the 3" shells, which is what is recommended for it, there was what I call "blown/strung" patterns. That is to say, they were about 8-12" wide with some fliers, but over 20" tall top to bottom at 25-30 yards. The Full BK sent to me performed exactly as the original one I had did. Erratic and poor patterns past 20-25 yards. In short, Kick's is refunding my purchase. My Primos Dead Deer tube still outperformed the Kick's tubes by a good margin. I am still not satisfied with it, as I feel improvement can be made and that it IS possible to get "consistant patterns within 20" at 40 yards." I will be buying a Wad Wizard Supreme in my search for a tight-patterning buckshot tube. MY barrel just does not like Kick's tubes, for whatever reason. However. Kick's tubes are VERY well made and I loved how it looked/fit on my M4. I really wish my shotgun had liked the tube. They are great tubes and Kick's Ind. is a great company to deal with. Shotguns are finicky creatures I am learning. My experience with Kick's was nothing but positive, however, and I recommend their product. If your shotgun likes it, they are great people and great products.
  2. I am a fan of red-dot/holographic type sights for this very reason.
  3. Or not straight as in...
  4. Well, the Buck Kicker was a .685 and it performed very poorly with most anything I put through it. My $30 Primos Dead Deer tube owned it past 15 yards. However, I called Chuck and he thinks there is something wrong with my tube. He sent me 2 more tubes to pattern (one a replacement, and one in .680). I am going to give those two a try. He said if that doesn't do it, he will give me a refund. I look at it this way, every now and then a gun finds a choke it just doesn't like. I think that is what happened here as Chuck makes a quality product. He also has GREAT! customer service (as evidenced by him shipping me another $160 worth of chokes to play with in addition to the one I already have and asking me to return the 2 that I don't like if 1 of them does well). You just can't beat that kind of service! I am going to pattern again this weekend and see what it does. I expect it will be much better this go around. Chuck knows his stuff.
  5. Looks right to me.
  6. Brownells (I cant spell for crap) will sell you the spring that will fix your issues. I bought the M1 Super 90 Military Model spring.

    M4 advice?

That's a dirty topic BUT here is what I have found: SOCOMguy swears by the stock 27.5" (When it "takes a set" it will be about 26" long) M4 spring. Benelli claims this spring is the ONLY ONE spec'ed for the M4, both the USMC 7-shot and the civvi 5-shot version. Here is what my personal experience has borne out: Full length tube with the stock M4 spring did great...until I fired some of the hotter 3" magnum loads like remington's #4 buck 3" load (WAY more recoil than their OO Buck 3" load, just fire them back to back...) When I did this, the inertia of the shotgun recoiling would fight the spring trying to push the last shell on top of the shell-lifter. It would jam the gun with the bolt back and the shell still snagged in the mag tube. I then did some research. Apparently the M1S90 Military model with the 7-shot tube uses a 35" spec'ed spring (actually varies from 35-39". When it "takes a set" It will be 30-31" long.). Now...we have 2 weapons, each with 12ga diameter mag tubes, each with mag tubes the same length. WHY would one of them have a 35" spring with the sam resistance per coil (spring-rate) and the other a 27.5" spring? It made no sense. So I bought the M1 Super 90 Military model spring and it has cured all my problems. As to the Benelli follower, it is a good one. Keep it. Unless you are trying to beat 922r, just keep it. Also, it is no secret, I am a HUGE fan of Ron@ www.tacticalshotgunner.com He has been one of the most customer-oriented people I have ever dealt with in any form of business. Period. Call him and he can help you with aftermarket accessories. Also on my favorites list is LaRue tactical. I highly recommend their pride-fowler optic/Irondot mount combo. I love mine!
  8. Looks like you already have an opinion. Have you ever fired a shotgun?
  9. For 50-55 yards you will need something like the Buck Kicker choke I bought from Kick's. A normal Benelli choke will really suck it up at that kind of distance. At 50 yards with my Primos Dead Deer choke and Remington 15 pelled 3" buckshot I was keeping 50% of my pellets on a 14x20" piece of paper. The Kicks should do even better. The stock MOD choke was hopeless.
  10. Just create a new thread introducing yourself. No harm, no foul.
  11. Your reception will be SO much warmer if you don't hi-jack threads on your first 2 posts.
  12. My roommate and I just moved. All we are really lacking is a Sofa and bed frames, but honestly, the matress on the floor is seeming more and more like the way to go. Seriously.
  13. My mistake. I was referring to the screw that attatches the buttstock that he was TRYING to get undone. Yes, the rec. should be locktited. Again...dial Benelli.
  14. Yeah, it and I have been through a lot togather. Pillow fights as a kid, camping trips, on and on. It has gone from it's OEM color to iron-algae well-water color, and back to OEM color with several moves from place to place. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
  15. Perhapse it has a spring like a Surecycle or something (even weaker than stock I found). Stock spring should be @27" in length. If you are running a 7-shot mag, I would STRONGLY urge you to buy a M1 Super 90 military model magazine spring. It was designed for a 7-shot tube from the get-go and is 35" in length. Mine has not failed me yet.
  16. A dumb question, but you ARE unscrewing it the correct direction yes? A call to Benelli is warrented imho. This screw is NOT lock-tighted, or shouldn't be anyways.
  17. Ammunition failure, or you have a full-length mag tube and a stock spring and are running some HEAVY recoiling ammo (I doubt this based on what you said).
  18. That, sir, is my table-cloth. Food where the food goes... ...and no, I don't have pictures of other things where other things go on my bed-sheets. Those are dark navy blue, although my pillow-case is an abstract of light pastels. Nothing fruity looking, just hard to describe. Had the thing for over a decade and I am attatched.
  19. I always oil mine, makes it look nice and uniform and sinister.
  20. Offhand today I shot a 4-shot group that was probably less than 1" CTC at 25 yards using an IC Trulock choke, Slugger Slugs, and my M4 using open sights. Smoothbore slug guns CAN be accurate. You just have to find a combo that it likes.
  21. The optic really isn't that high at all. I have to adjust a tiny bit of course, but mounting the shotgun quickly and naturally the dot is in my FOV. I really like it. Then again, I am coming from shooting A2 AR-15's, so I am used to the sight being a hair higher than someone who is used to a bead-sighted shotgun or something. I find that it is perfect. My Mesa 6-shot should arrive tomorrow btw. PS. Just measuring with a tape-measure the rear ghost ring is .75" above the reciever, and the red-dot when viewd is 1.25" above the reciever. This is only a 1/2" difference, which for a mounted optic really is NOT high. The auto-dimming feature is awesome as well. Works perfectly. Also has an "off" and "full on" switch, as well as a battery hatch on the top so I can change batteries without losing zero by removing the optic. I love it. $390 optic by itself, but with the LaRue mount (and the steak rub, hat, 2 bumper stickers, paint mixer, and beer bottle opener that they packed it with), it was only $408.xx shipped. Seriously, you have to love a company that sends you steak-rub with a combat weapon sight!
  22. Meh, it looks like it is making an already substantial shotgun bulkier yet. Not a fan really. All comes down to personal taste in the end I guess.
  23. What quad-rail is this? Are we talking handguards or mag-tube for accessories like lights, or what? I don't care how mall-ninja it is, I would love to have a VFG with a Surefire in it. I have yet to find a good way to mount a light on this shotgun. Everything involves a clamp of some sort and clamps on shotguns are just a no-no imho. PS. I have been tracking the shipment I sent you Gungho and it is in IN. That means mine should be in LA Thanks a TON! I will call you tomorrow to verify that everything that I sent you has arrived in order.
