  1. Briley will angle port any barrel and they do the best job I have seen. If you can get chokes for a cordoba, M2, SBE you can get chokes for a Vinci. You won't be able to get mag extensions or stocks or any of that good stuff yet, give it a year and you will. It sounds like you need the Cordoba, it is an excellent gun. I have shot the Cordoba and the Vinci and I would most defiantly take the Cordoba. I have heard people say it has "no kick" but that is not true. I know from experience that it has more kick than a gas gun, and how would it cycle if it didn't kick? The action relies on the recoil to cycle it. Over time you will get used to the kick of any gun you shoot regularly and you won't feel it.
  2. There is hardly any difference, the only differences being what Tucker mentioned and they are small with only that much difference in barrel length. I would go for which ever one I could find a deal on, and if I found two identical deals with the only difference being one was a 26" and one was a 28" I would pick the 28".
  3. I would think that the carrier coming up and pushing the shell against it would stop it even with this done, but it obviously works, someone sent me a PM with a video demonstrating how it is loaded with a shell floated, thanks to all for the information!
  4. I used to do a lot, I went through the ported choke phase, I realized, nobody needs to buy an after market choke at all, there is not an easily noticeable difference between the best of the best titanium ported extended and pretty colored chokes and the ones included with the gun. I personally prefer the cheapest available extended briley or carlsons non ported chokes because they are easy to take out and they do add a little look to the gun, not that that matters. If you do a lot of choke changing extended chokes make it easy to re tighten and change much quicker than flush chokes. Another reason to get new chokes, is if you turkey hunt or the restriction you want doesn't come with the gun. This is all my opinion and others may vary.
  5. Maybe your right, maybe I'm crazy, prove it.
  6. I understand the concept, but I have a hard time picturing how to load the fourth round. Do you open the bolt, put the shell down in the bottom of the chamber and then insert a shell in the chamber and shut it?
  7. Obviously you know everything, post some pics of patterns comparing your stock chokes and the best in the world kick's highflyer and maybe I will believe you.
  8. Porting the barrel does make a difference as far as muzzle jump. They drill the wholes in angles so the gas works against the jump. Chokes are ported all around, and the gas is let out in all directions making no difference in muzzle jump. Shotguns are low pressure guns, and porting the muzzle has little effect on shotguns, but very noticeable affects on high power rifles. Manufactures may claim that ported chokes pattern better, but the pattern board does not.
  9. People that don't take care of their 870s have rust problems. Of course in the price range the 870 is considered a beater, and has the durability for it. Re oil it if it gets wet, clean it every 1000 rounds you will be good. I don't have any rust problem with my 870 in camo, but if it was blued I might.
  10. True, thank you as well for being one of the better members as far as keeping the discussion respectful.
  11. I agree with Tucker. The 870 is the most durable gun out their IMO, I sold my super nova, and kept the 870 because I got a bigger offer for the super nova. The nova has no significant advantage over an 870, the only real advantage was the shim kit, bigger trigger guard, and the threads on the chokes are at the very end of the barrel allowing easier cleaning. The 870 feels better to if you like a slim grip and a slightly shorter stock. The 870 is also cheaper and easier to find parts for. The 870 has a great trigger, the trigger smooth and fairly light for a shotgun. If I had to get a new pump, I would pick the 870 because it fits me better and is cheaper. The nova would be my second choice.
  12. The nova is a fine shotgun, a smooth pumper, and sharp looker. I can't say much about a stoeger. Don't know much about them, but I personally would not get one, I have bad experience with semi auto shotguns that cheap, but it was a charles daly, not a stoeger.
  13. You can pull it out with a stick, or you can pump it about 1" and close it, but it should spring back as you pump and function fine with it starting up, If it throws shells on the ground though, you have a problem, maybe it has some dirt stuck in there.
  14. Yes it will work dddduuuuhhhh but it would work slightly better with a non ported choke, and you would save money. I had to underline and bold better so you would understand me, read my post completely this time.
  15. I know it, might as well get a new gun and you could leave the scope on.
  16. It will work for everyone but it would work better if it wasn't ported.
  17. What ever mod choke IC choke it is the same choke with lead and steel not an IC with lead and mod w/ steel. It just patterns different. I was making a joke and new what you meant. Did you know that the monty and the M2 are almost the same? Maybe he meant the finish isn't good for hunting. The monty is perfectly good what kind of idiot would say that the monty isn't any good? Duck hunting may be your life but you only have 14 years of life and probably 7 seasons of duck hunting. You can only gather so much info from forums and tv it will take you longer to develop a true experienced opinion. If you really did your research on the perfect choke you would find out it isn't ported because the porting distorts the pattern especially with flite control wads used in black cloud. You would also know that porting doesn't reduce muzzle jump, and doesn't reduce felt recoil. Why did you get a ported choke? Your vinci has no recoil and no muzzle jump right? Even though it relies on recoil to cycle.
  18. I wish we could have a political debate, without out personal insults, pointless pictures, and moderator interruptions. MODERATOR I made that capital, colored, bold and underlined so hopefully you will see my post, why can't we debate about politics? Maybe we should move this to shotgun world forums or elsewhere that has a politics forum and will actually let us debate. What do you think Tucker? I enjoy debating you and I noticed you have a SGW account. I would like to continue but apparently we can't on this forum without the mods stopping us.
  19. http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=104171 I might as well book mark this link I use it every week
  20. I agree with you that bush and mccain where both idiots, and pretty much worst case scenario for the republican party.
  21. That was just one example, the Cadillac a rich man buys is made by factory workers, that house he lives in was maid buy low income workers, The close on his back came from factory workers, everything he buys supports people that have low income. How nice of a restaurant are you talking about? Do you have the evidence to back your facts up? How many nights out a year at that nice restaurant are you talking about? Canadian health care is another reason why I don't like Obama. Obama want's to overhaul the health care system, but how does he plan on paying for it? Tax. Tax is taking away freedom, we are spending are money on things we don't want to spend it on, he is literally forcing us to spend our money on what he want's, which shouldn't be allowed.
  22. Maybe I should have said "that is probably why there are so many racists" or "that is one of the reasons"
  23. Don't get the ported, a waste of choke tube and money, they pattern worse, and don't reduce muzzle jump or felt recoil.
