  1. I agree but you were wrong about the deer being "weak" those deer are tougher than humans that drive cars to work and buy food, deer are out there fighting to live and they can out run or out fight any human. Keep in mind this is steel and steel has %30 less energy than lead. The deer only went 30 yards when I have seen deer hit good by a 300 win mag run 100 yards. If I was worried about about someone breaking into my house and my shotgun was my defense gun than I would put some 00 in it. However heavy bird shot is very deadly and would defiantly put a big man down. I know a kid that killed an alligator with a 410 loaded with bird shot. Not that its ideal but it is defiantly lethal and adequate for killing a human.

  3. Ask ishootkittens he used a crio choke in his nova I am sure you will be fine shooting it.
  4. Sorry I haven't been on here in a while, but what choke and load did you use?
  5. I wish your hole was a little more east, if that was the case I might take you up on that.
  6. I like option 1 the best, option 2 would be ok but with the longer chamber it may not throw very accurate groups. Keep your barrel 24" at longest because with slow slugs the barrel will start to move up from recoil before the slug leaves the barrel. Also keep in mind you will have to use rifled slugs for accuracy with option 2.
  7. Nonsense that crio treatment isn't going to do much for a shotgun and the chevrons are there more for than looks then recoil reduction and you cant feel any difference. I do however like the chokes better the main reason being the threads are easier to reach because they are closer to the end of the barrel. Also it comes with 2 more chokes. The M2 has shims, and a takedown case. It is better but not that much.
  8. How much do they charge by the way?
  9. Yes as long as you use the chokes marked IC or MOD but not the full choke.
  10. I've been down the cheap gun road. I bought a charles daly semi auto and I could not ever get that thing to shoot more than once because it always jammed. I was trying to save money but ended up loosing money. Also you cant always just say I know I am already in debt but I bought that $5000 gun because it fit right. You can't always afford a wide selection of guns and fit isn't the only factor. Patterning lets you know how your gun shoots and you can adapt to it by shooting clays given time and patience.
  11. In the spare parts list that comes with the gun.
  12. What I would have done is buy a $40 limbsaver which is a better recoil pad and be done with it. I have heard of many people with bad experience with Winchester CS so I doubt you will like there service much better. I agree Benelli does need to improve their CS because they will not reply to emails and it takes a long time to send a gun back to get it fixed.
  13. Don't do it it messed up my computer bad I liked to never had gotten that thing of my computer it didn't let me open up anything but the internet and it changed my background and crazy stuff like that.

    Choke Tubes

Sorry I wanted some black steel shot ok so I am not interested. Correct me if I am wrong but the Crio chokes will fit the M1 but they will stick out more than they should.
  15. I don't understand how high density shot patterns much because I haven't played with it much, but you said hd 7 would pattern looser than lead 5 at 40 yards. I guess this makes sense because steel shot is less dense but patterns tighter so denser shot patterns looser. Am I correct? If so what is the advantage of hd if hd 7 is as dense as lead 5 but the lead 5 patterns better and has equal force and is cheaper?
  16. I don't think it makes them tough you could use any gun for an oar and it would probably work fine afterward. I saw them breaking ice with theirs on duck commander.
  17. I am pretty sure you could make it happen, but it might wear out the stock if you did it.
  18. Do they make limbsavers that fit the vinci yet or are you talking about slip ons?

    Choke Tubes

Are the chokes ported, are they steel shot ok, and what brand are they?
  20. It depends where you are in relation to the porting and the muzzle. My M2 is also hard to load shells in I am hoping it will loosen up over time.
  21. If you are not shooting over 50 yard the normal barrel should be fine the rifled choke doesn't do much. Your current forearm will work. Try checking gunbroker I have seen steady grip stocks there before.
  22. No glue in the supernova you need to pop it in its kind of tricky the first time.
  23. Reminds me I used to use a 3.5' wire spool and some bags of grain or feed for a rest is that not redneck?
  24. Porting chokes will pattern almost the same but I have never seen them pattern better than non ported and sometimes worse. The reason why I don't prefer ported is because they cost more for nothing but looks. I used to love ported chokes tell I compared them to normal chokes and the performance was the same and the recoil was the same and the price was better. So in my opinion if a non ported choke kicks just as soft, patterns just as good, and costs less than a ported choke it is better.
  25. I am ocd when it comes to guns and it is more even with so thats my vote. I personally would get a shorter choke to be perfectly even.
