  1. Gonna share something with you from personal experience: when one is very seriously injured one is best served with an autoloader as a pump can and will let you down due to being under stressfire and especially if seriously injured. Add the complications involved in keeping track of twin magazines and you have a recipe for deep kimshee. In theory it sounds wonderful, but in practice the outcome will likely be less than desirable.
  2. As I posted, I prefer using 2 3/4" rounds over 3" (for a number of reasons) however if and when in the future sugar turns to sh*t optimally one would benefit from having the capability of using 3" rounds as the gun was designed to handle them should one acquire 3" rounds somehow - rather than be limited to 2 3/4". How long does it take you to empty all the spent hulls and reload that Street Sweeper to full capacity?
  3. According to the Kel-Tec guy at the Kel-Tec booth at the Shot Show this Kel-Tec shotgun is "designed (only) for 2 3/4" shells to function and feed". Who would want a 'modern' shotgun that's limited to 2 3/4" rounds? (although I prefer not shooting 3" rounds, I like the option just in case) The fact that it only "functions and feeds" reliably with 2 3/4" rounds indicates to me overall reliability issues. For a RELIABLE pump shotty which is limited to 2 3/4" rounds I'll continue to depend on my 18.5" Model 12. There's another youtube video of this shotgun which shows its less than smooth action, and that's a promo video from Kel-Tec.
  4. And as a bonus you get that awesome Kel-Tec reliability at no extra charge!
  5. Note that they were all using G3s for their entry exercise. Makes absolutely no sense to use a machinegun in 7.62 NATO as an entry weapon. But then I suppose it fits in with the rest of their ineptitude.

    Urbino Stock

What was your total cost on that?

    Urbino Stock

It's a Mesa Tactical item, but I'm guessing it won't work on the OEM buttstock on the M4, maybe it will work on the Urbino. http://www.mesatactical.com/index.php?id=56

    Urbino Stock

Doesn't look that way to me. The Mesa rubber PG appears to have a sharper edge in the transition to the back as well as appearing to have more of a flat back, so no, it does not look "just like" the OEM rubber PG to me. Also, the lip extending out at the bottom front definitely appears to be more pronounced on the Mesa PG. I prefer the OEM rubber PG.

    Urbino Stock

I'm wondering if it's possible to put the Benell OEM rubber PG on the Mesa stock.
  10. Besides the 'axle bushing' aka pin, you're likely to also need a new retaining spring, a new retaining spacer, and a new retaining ring. And then you're going to need a pair of inside split ring pliers small enough to get that retaining ring into it's groove. Then once you've got it all assembled you're likely going to have to take it all apart again and tweak the retaining spring so it will allow the the axle bushing (pin) to pass through and engage it.
  11. An al follower has less mass therefore less inertia, making for a quicker action over a ss follower.
  12. Lame. Got nothin' on the Saiga. You can actually buy a Saiga at a reasonable price (if detachable mag shotguns are your thing). That monstrosity isn't available to us lowly 'civilians'. And the biggest distinction is, the Saiga is an AK whereas this thing isn't.
  13. Witch pattern? Just in time for Halloween, huh?
  14. Your 'first line of *defense*' is subject to being breached in under a second. lol Here's a thought: get another dog to work with that one and double the length of time your 'first line of *defense*' remains viable. FWIW I rely on protection dogs myself, but I comprehend their limitations. And yes, I DO expect my dog to be a 'hero' by charging into the fight at WOT without any hesitation, and I fully appreciate the consequences. From my perspective a dog which is a component to one's home defense is strictly a buffer.
  15. gettingold, check your private messages.
  16. There's not a dog alive that's bullet-proof, knife-proof, or bludgeon-proof. The most you can ever hope for out of any dog is for the dog to buy you a little time so you can seize the initiative. To think otherwise is just downright foolish. "My (insert 'badass' dog breed here) is the most awesome sort of protection dog there is" is a cherished delusion of many. A genuine sociopath will take that dog out so fast it will make your head spin. I suggest you keep your HD weapons at the ready and use the dog strictly as a meatshield. If you have to 'bust out' your HD then you're on the wrong end of the torque curve.
  17. I gather it's a purely arbitrary thing which the ATF pulled out of their ***.
  18. First of all, you need to get some proper hearing protection before you damage your hearing any more than you have. Ringing in the ears is an indication of hearing damage. And personally I see no benefit at all in using 3" rounds over 2 3/4" rounds, much less 3.5" rounds. From my experience, 3" rounds produce very irregular patterns vs. 2 3/4" rounds, at least with buckshot.
  19. no 'collapsing' (if that's what you wanna call the fully retracted c stock), just the shorter LOP and the cheek riser I found no real benefit from the fully retracted c stock, I viewed it more of 'what's the point?'
  20. btw, there are currently 2 c stocks listed on feebay - a dreamer has one listed for 950 and a realist has one listed with a 3 position recoil tube for 200
  21. given the choice between an Urbino and a c stock in this economy I don't know why anyone would even want a c stock...to cut the overall length by a mere 3"? to look tacti-cool??? it just isn't worth the extra cost imo when the Urbino is superior (and yes, I had a c stock briefly)
  22. Who would ever shoot a gun like that??? As was posted one would be better off getting a couple of choppers for that kind of money and have some fun.
  23. considering the price of new barrels and limited options, you may want to think about just getting another shotty to suit your needs http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Products.aspx?catid=10307
  24. Thx for the photos I've also always found that the patterns are blown apart and very irregular with the 3" rounds. The other disadvantages to 3" - less magazine capacity, more muzzle flash, and more difficulty staying on target with the extra recoil. Conclusion: forget the 3" rounds and only use the 3" when that's all ya got.
  25. I got an email from the fellow with Botach who posted on that thread indicating they had no timeframe for having those stocks available again, so IOW, out of stock indefinitely.
