  1. The coveted Design Concepts 8.5 gram unit.
  2. Absolutely SHTF. Color matched Line-X coated body. Full KORE Unlimied racing suspension. Fiberglass fenders and bedsides. It's actually only 3.5" of lift. Keeping a low center of gravity was the goal. It started as a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Single Rear Wheel 4x4. It's a diesel too. The wheels are 37" x 13.5" on 17" Centerline wheels that I had powder coated.
  3. Rear sling mount from Mesa Tactical.
  4. Being two pieces allows it to conform to the barrel assembly closer than one would. Imagine how the installation would occur. If you want a one piece, the Surefire M80 is out there. It uses a rubberized top that allows the forend to stretch over the barrel assembly. However, ergonomics are not on par with the factory of the FFT stocks. I imagine two pieces are cheaper to produce as well. Much less complex of a mold.
  5. Thanks KB. I've encountered the seating issue on OEM handguards. When my 11703 barrel was replaced by Benelli with the 11707 barrel, they had to replace the handguards as well. They're a semi custom fit to each weapon. The handguard hangers aren't exactly precision production. They're stamped steel loosely held in place via the magazine tube and a retainer ring. It seems like a pain in the ass product to produce so that it is functional with the entire range of production M4's out there. Several inline production revisions have changed interfacing components dimensions. Now that you fine tuned it, does it install easier? Or do you need the sledge each time?
  6. Has anyone spoke with Freedom Fighter's yet about this issue?
  7. Purchased brand new. 11703 model purchased in 2004. My guess is either Benelli forgot it or the gunstore who had it was fingering it and lost it. It's not still in the faux extension tube, is it?
  8. I'd buy one for my go to M4 if I didn't go the Surefire M80 route. A rail mount option at the 10:30 and 1:30 position would have tipped me towards it. FFT did tell me that they are going to do some colored units too. Probably FDE and maybe an OD green. Has anyone weighed this forearm? The factory set are 5 ounces combined.
  9. The part isn't actually needed. My M4 didn't have one from the factory. The spring was simply retained by the mag cap. I bought one of the retainers from Brownells last year. The retainer can cause issues with slightly oversized shells fitting with Wolff springs in place. Some spring trimming may be required to allow for 7, 2 3/4 shells.
  10. Good to hear. Now it's time for the fun part.
  11. I wouldn't do it while in possession of a M4. You can reweld the hangers and front sight base? Note the taper at the end of the barrel to accommodate the choke.
  12. No guarantees in life. But I have ordered one of each. Several others have ordered the complete unit and no one has come looking for my head. You could call and verify, but I really doubt they'd know the difference.
  13. You would probably be waiting a long time. Only a limited few are willing to go through all that work for a faux stock in a ban state.
  14. Will do. My wife has my camera this week out of State. I use the same Mesa swivel as Murphy. It's a pain to fit, but an excellent mount assuming you get the latest version of it. There should be a button head bolt on the right side, not the crappy acorn nut. I'm waiting for my M80 to be replaced right now too.
  15. I think you see why I sold you that LaRue mount now. The weight is deceiving on the M80. It weighs 8 ounces. The factory handguards together weigh 5 ounces. So there is only a 3 ounce difference. The rub is, when you start adding things like the light, sling mounts, rail covers, AFG... and so on, the weight doubles. I love LaRue gear, but I find their mounts to be bulky and heavy. They also poke the mounted light too far away from the rail. This screws with the weapons center of gravity and makes it feel heavier than it is. It also catches on EVERYTHING. That's why I'm moving to this option. Surefire Scout M600C on a GearSector offset mount. The Scout is going to hug the rail tight at 10:30. Perfect for thumb placement and won't obscure the handguard for your hand placement. You'll notice that the rubber is pushed in on the M80. I'm probably going to have to trim the rubber back some. I'm not opposed to making beneficial modifications when needed. To keep the weight down, use either the ladder rails it came with or LaRue index clips. They don't weight anything. The AFG if you're using that can weigh several ounces though. I don't have the exact figures on hand. If you can live without it, it'll be that much lighter. You can install a GearSector sling mount on the M80. They have several options. Then remove the factory sling mount to reduce the weight some. I 86'ed the SideArmor top rail this week and installed a carriercomp rail section. That knocked off about a pound of weight. I actually just got back from sighting in my T1 with some slugs. The M4 has a nice 2 foot fireball at night! It's running flawlessly since I did these massive changes over the past month.
  16. Wish this was for sale a week or so ago!
  17. Pull out the trigger pack. Unscrew the original stock from the receiver. Screw on the pistol grip portion. Reinstall the trigger pack. Note the location of the flat spot on the recoil tube. Press the unlock button with the stock indexed to this install groove. Once the stock bottoms out, continue holding the unlock button and rotate the stock. Slide the stock up and down the recoil tube to the desired position. Note the location of the witness markings on the recoil tube. It will take some practice to quickly change the seating position. Continue pushing the unlock button until the stock will rotate into the grooves at different lengths. It's harder to explain than to actually do.
