  1. Don't be "that guy". Remove the barrel. Don't look down the barrel with a light in the receiver. Also, the seating ring on the barrel that pushes up against the receiver is more pronounced on a 11707. The tang on the very back of the barrel is more pronounced on the 11707 models.
  2. Main spring wore out on mine. Spare magazine spring. Rubber o-rings. A spare piston would be good. Mine is in the 12k range.
  3. http://www.gunbroker.com Is your friend. You'll need an FFL dealer to ship the weapon to and do your FBI background check through. They'll usually charge a fee of 20 - 50 dollars for the service. Expect to pay shipping. In most cases you'll avoid sales tax. 1450 is a good place to expect to get one for shipped.
  4. Wolffe doesn't make one for the M4. I wrote to them and asked about six months ago. I tried the extra power spring in my M4. If will work fine if you're feeding it high base ammunition. However, if you intend to feed it anemic valuepack ammunition, expect failures.
  5. The process is fairly straight forward assuming you have the tools. A gunsmith can probably do it, but it always sucks being the first one that they've actually done -- much like taking your car to a mechanic.
  6. You think of a better way to kill ants or method to carve your name in the face of the moon? Brail keyboards ain't so bad.
  7. Same diode and output. Seriously dangerous laser. Fear not, it'll be banned in California shortly I'm sure. Reflections off of white walls could be enough to arc flash you without protective glasses. That bird that craps on my car is screwed. If you see a blue dot on the dark side of the moon, you'll know I got it.
  8. In before I mount this. Screw bayonets... http://www.wickedlasers.com/lasers/Spyder_III_Pro_Arctic_Series-96-37.html 1000mw of good times... Order placed.
  9. Can't care right now -- Basket ball/World Cup/Nascar/American Idol is on. We all deserve the tyranny that is looming.
  10. Shell length. The S&B is longer than spec. Treat them like 3" shells. Try another brand of shells that are 2 3/4.
  11. I've fallen down more times than I care to recall in the desert while carrying various weapons. Rough inclines up desert hills is rough going. The barrel and magazine tube usually take most of the beating aside from my legs and hands. Most seem to carry the weapon resting on a pillow immediately from their car to the square box shooting range that has been approved by various local, state and federal agencies. So I guess a tougher, lighter weapon is overkill. If you're concerned about US made parts, an extension will not count towards your goal. A complete US made tube is required.
  12. Bighat, You going to order a rail whenever they're done?
  13. Thanks! The M600C is awesome. They've finally be rerated to be 200 lumens now. The only real negative about it is the price. Here is a recent photo of mine.
  14. Great review. No anti-rotation ridges? Fail. At first handling the GG&G, it doesn't seem that aggressive. But when you drag your knuckles across it when working the bolt handle, it will cheese grate your knuckles or the side of your fingers. If you're not running the weapon hard and fast, you'll never run into this issue. I use it as motivation to never run out of shells. If you're not shooting, you should be topping off. I've been considering coating the outer side of the pad with that rubberized tool handle dip.
  15. Time to get those wind chimes down. Any of them have a buggered magazine cap thread? Maybe just cut them down and sell them as a shorty. It'll work for people who have a death grip on their steel extensions as well. So did you get the pistons and the ARGO plugs also? It looks like a 11707 design. Two different barrels are in the photos. The ones with the shiny ARGO plugs are the newer design/finish. Did you notice that it is Botach that got them?
  16. 10 days??! But, I'm angry now! Hookster, Look into the LaRue OBR. Nicest 308 platform I handled at the SHOT Show. I'm not a LaRue fanboy. Of all of them, it felt the lightest. The LMT MRP 308 was a heavy boat anchor, and it was stripped on display. The action of the OBR was perfect. It felt like it operated on ball bearings. Plus, guys are dinging plates at a mile with them! How are you guys buying these evil rifles in California? Do you have to use that tool detach mag release?
  17. A single point is going to be a bringer of pain if you carry it... anywhere without having your hands on the weapon the entire time. Buy the VTAC padded sling. Get a Daniel Defense sling mount to hook to your rail. Use paracord to tie the rear QD mount to the stock where you want it. Then when the Urbino comes out, you can use the QD on the stock as well. I have my OD green M4 setup like this. I've got about 30 miles of carry with this setup. It's about as good as you're going to get with a heavy shotgun. The adjustments will allow you to keep the barrel from banging your knees the entire time you're walking with the weapon slung behind your back. Having the adjustment strap on the VCAS will allow you to transition from a stored away carry position to a fighting position in a fraction of a second. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4033/4580392901_b11021ec5b_b.jpg
  18. Titanium shorty tube is an epic win. Better call up Ditech and order a second one to sell to Kip down the road Tex!
  19. I thought 900 lumens would be brighter. Like reaching a peek level where it is mostly a gamma ray burst. You could then see the subjects skeleton standing behind a block wall from 50 feet away. Sterilizes targets within 0.25 seconds.
  20. Love that shorty barrel. I bet it is seriously more handy in tight areas. Those GearSector sling mounts don't match up very well with the XTM panels anyway. You're trying to slide the mount on from the front or the rear of the rail right?
  21. Only finish wear on my DC handle. No deformation like shown in the initial post. I have about 2000 round on it now.
  22. I'll take a look at my design concepts handle when I have a chance. I expect to see some wear on it as well. When it comes to steel and titanium, steel wins. Good post.
