  1. Everyone tells me I look great in Red !
  2. Then you might enjoy my Assembly / Disassembly Anatomy Series Manuals for the Winchester Model 12
  3. IF nothing else, when he features a shotgun in a movie its value increases........here's Arnie in the terminator with a Franchi SPAS-12 and the infamous "hook" .........hopefully the new movie will increase the value of my SBS M4's too !
  4. Sorry, Bello, I forgot you like them naked. The rest of you guys cover your eyes....I'm going to undress this style until Bello is happy. Jackalope.......with the Knox stock it's a kitten to shoot.
  5. The idea is to use the one above when one needs to clear out a motor home or small rooms and not to be used for sporting clays....nothing beyond 10 yards. If you need a sighting system, then use a light / laser combo with an offset mount like the SureFire X400 with remote pressure switch shown below that can be swapped with other setups.
  6. As already mentioned, an offset rail mounts the light and use a remote pressure pad switch. I use this setup on a barrel 1/2 as short as yours !
  7. This is why closet hangers lose their shape must be replaced every year....something about a closet.
  8. The little brother is kind of sexy too......unfortunately and surprisingly, the magazines are not compatible between the two. Sorry about California.
  9. I tried the Daniel Defense with its "see-thru" base.....which allows using the stock M4 iron sights as back-ups. This may be what you are looking for. Rather than the Daniel Defense, I prefer the LaRue lower mount (not a see-thru base) with various red dot sights used in conjunction with SureFire Barry Dueck off-set BUIS which are really nice.

    M4 ARGO

Village speak trivia...... In Greek mythology, Argo (in Greek: Ἀργώ, means 'swift') just sayin'.
  11. I use the RMR 07 atop a 6x48 ACOG that works well.
  12. Looks like I am going to have to sneak one of those X300-Ultra's into the house.....wish SureFire had an obsolete product upgrade exchange program for all their xenon !.....they actually do have LED head upgrades (xenon to LED) available for a lot of their now discontinued lights, but just the head is almost as much as the new LED version flashlight. It's nauseating to have a pile of money tied up in flashlights that still work well but are obsolete technology. A partial list of now old money below.
  13. I hope they don't discontinue the Scout lines completely. The Mossberg has the M300 scout mounted. The Benelli M4 has the M620 Scout mounted. The X400 with a pressure pad is Scout-like. The SBR also has a Scout M620 mounted.
  14. It may not be coming out......just sayin'.
  15. What they said......a picture is worth a thousand more words. From my Benelli M1/M2 Anatomy Series Manual
  16. The 2 photo upload is killing me...... as I was sayin', the easy-to-make roll pin punches are a joy to use on the AR platform as well.
  17. If you need longer punches, parallel, roll pin, or roll pin holders........you can easily fabricate your own.....use the desired size drill rod stock, and simply modify a brass punch to insert the drill rod into......here's an example of such a good looking punch. This one I use for removing AR bolt latch pins, as I really don't care for the 1/2 diameter variant that is often recommended. This particular punch is also handy to remove the carrier latch button roll pin on the Benelli's which require a long reach to prevent scratching the receiver with the shoulder of shorter punches.
  18. The solution is to get some Wiha German made parallel and starter punches.....precision and nicely hardened. Here's the metric set compared to the Starretts.
  19. Stranger.......nice job. I see you use Starrett punches - they're the best.
  20. If you had the Benelli M4 Anatomy Series Manual you could see exactly how to do it.
  21. Nice photo Tucker301
  22. The 5.7 is a nice shooter........but the grip is a little large, as BilleeDee mentioned, and it has switches. A quick comparison to the 1911. Recoil mechanism……5.7 is a “delayed” blowback with fixed barrel……….. .45 is either a Browning drop link mechanism (std. Colt style) or a drop barrel breech mechanism (M&P styled) Trigger mechanism……5.7 single action only versus either single action (Colt styled) or DAO (M&P styled) Hammer………both have one, the 5.7 is concealed within the slide cover, ….classic Colt styled .45 has external hammer whereas M&P styled is hammerless Std magazine capacity……5.7 is 20 rounds, .45 is 8 rounds single stack Cartridge……..5.7 ~ 31 grains……..45 cal 165 to 230 grains (7.4 times the mass of the 5.7) Cartridge diameter……5.7 is ½ size of the .45 (Kinetic Energy =1/2 * mass * velocity2) [ Ke of 5.7 = 8.2 x 106 versus Ke of .45 = 12.7 x 106 ] Velocity……..5.7 is supersonic ~ 2300 fps versus subsonic .45 ~ 950 to 1050 fps (the mass of the .45 overcomes the 2:1 velocity differential to deliver more energy at the muzzle at least!) Recoil…..5.7 virtually none; .45 legendary Accuracy…..5.7 very good within an 1” of custom 45 platform at 25 yards
  23. We already knew that......if you had a M4 Anatomy Manual you would have known it too ! Just sayin'.
  24. Just got my stamp on a SBR......6 months!
  25. Here's the MS3 QD sling mounted on a Noveske N4 10.5" .......I need to practice converting from single point to dual point attachments. The para-clip works well to secure it to a forward mounted "empty" QD point. It feels as though it holds the gun in close to the chest on single point attachment.....the sling portion about the neck is not padded, so it may rough up the neck somewhat.
