Sukhoi_fan
I'm not in any way associated with this vendor, just noticed the listing on feebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Benelli-LIGHTWEIGHT-CHARGING-HANDLE_W0QQitemZ120475767054QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1c0cea510e&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Hookster
Interesting, but it looks like it's the free spinning design by the look of the ends in the last picture. I'm going to wait on Kip's to replace my original.
Sukhoi_fan
Definitely looks like a spinner. And a little large for my tastes.
StrangerDanger
20 grams. Too heavy. Stock weight is 12.5 grams. GG&G is 24.5 grams. The Design Concepts model is 8.5 grams. I bet Kip's will mirror stock weight or lighter if it benefits.
[email protected]
Here is a possible that does not look like a spinner... Hookster
Looks fairly good compared with other current offerings. Is this someone you know that's making these? Any idea about material, weight, finish and price? Hookster
[email protected]
No - just what he says - the post is August, so it makes me wonder what's going on. If you search `On Point' it just comes up with another alloy or aluminum type.
Hookster
I'm in no rush so I'll probably just wait for Kip's Hookster

Hookster
Supposedly it's in the works. It sounds like it's up there on the "things to do" list after he catches up with the tube orders and probably getting all settled in his new facility. Unobtanium
No - just what he says - the post is August, so it makes me wonder what's going on. If you search `On Point' it just comes up with another alloy or aluminum type. The unit is aluminum and is just the handle-part. It slips over your OEM bolt-charger and is secured with a set-screw. No matter what it weighs, it obviously increases weight over OEM as it is ADDED to the OEM unit. I am not interested in it.
OhioM4
Looks fishy to me. My guess is its aluminum. If you follow the links you can find a second page that describes an aluminum charging handle knob that fits over the stock Benelli handle. Its just a knurled sleeve that fits over the stock knob and is attached with a set screw. The photos on the two pages definitely show two different designs; one is the set screw attached sleeve knob, the other appears to be a complete unit. However, it still looks like aluminum to me. I'll wait for Kip too. http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=64616277&blogId=506360257
Hookster
Thank Goodness for Kip! Last of a dying breed. At least there's someone left in the world that really cares about putting out the absolute best product possible. Hookster
[email protected]
If you look at the link(s) on onpoint they show both. The one in question is not the goofy add on one, but looks to be an aluminum copy of the DC unit. Not this: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=64616277&blogId=506360257 But this: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=64616277&blogId=505394909

StrangerDanger
That is more like a copy of the GG&G handle. It is much larger than the Design Concepts model. What you need to find out is how much it weighs in grams. If it weighs more than 12.5 grams, FAIL. This is approximate stock weight. The Design Concepts model weighs in at 8.5 grams. The aluminum model has the potential to beat this weight listing; however I doubt it due to the larger size. Next concern will be the durability of the aluminum. You'll have to buy one to find out. Here are some reference photos to compare with. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2457/3706079753_42303b5ca6_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3502/3467762036_0c5e6cc8a6_b.jpg

xamoel
just one quick question: what charging handle and what bolt release are you using?
truckcop
I'm not him but the bolt release is a GGG and the charging handle looks like GGG as well.
StrangerDanger
GG&G Bolt Release Design Concepts Titanium Bolt Handle, no longer produced. Kip is designing one that is similar. The design Concepts is 8.5 grams. Stock handles are 12.5 grams. GG&G's are 24 grams. Lighter is better. Heavier slows the cyclic rate. TerpX
Anyone use Dave's Metal Works products?
truckcop
I've got his oversized safety on a couple of guns and his charging handle on my competition gun. They work well. The safety is large enough that you can manipulate it with the edge of your finger as you go for the trigger rather than having to push on it with the tip of the finger, THEN go to the trigger. I like the design of the charging handle in competition. It allows me to make a shell change very easily if needed. I like it better than the original, round narrow "tactical" handle that originally came on the gun. I've tried the GGG as well but like Dave's much better. Overall, however, I prefer the newer flat-style factory field charging handle. I haven't felt the need to make a change on my newer guns. jojunior
Ti handle looks nice. I have an aluminum one from GG&G.
quickbiscuit
Is Kip planning on releasing a Ti charging handle to go with his full length tubes? What is the latest status?
