electric7 Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/05/15/benelli-release-limited-edition-m1014-shotguns/amp/ Just curious if anybody has a feel for how limited the M1014 civilian model really is after 3 years of production. Is there some set production limit or is it going to be self limiting when people lose interest? The stock is nice and more versatile, but the price is not much higher. So, it didn't really strike me as a real collector item. But, what do I know. Quote
Vertigofirearms Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 The original M1014 sold to US had a different serial number that went up to 2500. I dunno when they hit the market as it was before my time. They brought it back because it will sell like hotcakes. They even brought back the M1 Super 90 last year. Quote
bambihunter Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 I have no facts to back this up so this is just my personal opinion... I feel like they are the regular M4 that is paying homage to the 1014. Benelli wisely capitalized on the USA market that are interested in having the closest we can have to what our military uses. There are some people that may have bought it for that reason alone. And, as you eluded to, I also think they only as limited as the number of people that want to buy it. I don't believe they retained the early gas system instead opting for the newer M4 port design. Quote
StrangerDanger Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 I always wanted the 0666 M1014. Never saw it rear its head though. I fixed probably 2% or the original run with correct receiver extensions. The M1014’s only real value is it comes with a collapsible stock. That way you aren’t paying gouger pricing for one. You’re stuck replacing the receiver extension however. Quote
electric7 Posted September 18, 2020 Author Posted September 18, 2020 I am curious how many are out there. Do you think Benelli would tell us? Someday, the original 2500 might have some intrinsic value. But, I would think the current unlimited limited edition is just cool to have and not really a collectors item. Quote
StrangerDanger Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 I’m not sure about the new production numbers. Considering they didn’t give a Serial range, it seems it will be an ongoing production run. Quote
electric7 Posted September 19, 2020 Author Posted September 19, 2020 On the Benelli website, there is no mention of the 11701 being limited. Since I just started looking at these a couple months ago, I didn't understand the history. But, couple guys on calguns listed there 2020 M1014's as limited for $4k. So, I was actually confused by this ambition. Quote

THAT_Guy Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 From what I remember, the first run of Limited Edition M1014s was mid- to late 2002. I bought one with a low 3-digit serial purely by chance in December of '02 when I came back from deployment. I didn't even realize what I'd had until my brother showed me the ad in one of my American Rifleman mags I'd had forwarded to my parent's place while I was overseas. Those 2500 had serials beginning with "M1014-XXXX", as shown by the "-0117" above. Mine isn't too far from that serial. Since those debuted during the "Assault Weapons Ban", the stocks do NOT collapse, but they can be removed, leaving the rat-tail buffer tube bare, and the magazine tubes have an extension that also serves as a limiter, so it only holds 5 in the tube. When I called Benelli in early 2006 to get a price estimate for my renter's insurance, I was told it had actually appreciated in value by about $600. I paid just under $1,600 for it, so I'd imagine it may have appreciated even more by now. Quote
M1014-0228 Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 (edited) As you can tell from my member name I have # 0228 of the original first run of the M-1014. I have bought and installed the required number of 922 USA made compliant parts to have the collapsible stock and magazine extension. I believe that I purchased it in October 2002. My firearms insurance policy lists its value at $2600. Edited June 25, 2024 by M1014-0228 Add Picture Quote
RxArms Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 I’m actually blown away at how much these guns have not experienced much inflation since 2002! paying US$1600 for an M1014 in 2002? That is barely less than buying one these days. Quote
Destroyer357 Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 I should've bought these first - I own a private security company, I bought them and now have bunch of brand new collapsible stocks that are no longer needed Quote
Kahamu Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 "Limited" as in it is limited to only 1 position on the recoil tube and to a fixed modified choke 😂 2 Quote
Craig Vickers Posted March 28, 2025 Posted March 28, 2025 I have the limited edition. So they still have it in 2025. It's called the M1014 CELEBRATION. Quote
Benelli MGR Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 The M1014's that are sold today are a standard line item. The limited run we did in the 2003-2004 have the specialized serial numbers, the flag engraved, and only 2500 were made. Quote
