Looking at his profile, he posted here twice on 9-24 & 9-25. Unless he's a master at lurking, it's unlikely that he will see your hail from Earth. You could try a PM, which also goes to his e-mail account.

Leupold Eclipse. Just plain goofy looking. I know it may be practical, but still goofy looking. [ 12-08-2005, 10:18 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

Well, Don't you have a scanner?

Most folks recommend a couple of boxes of 3" or better max. field loads. This will also get you and the recoil of the eagle on a more intimate basis

Settle down, boys & girls. Good things come to those who wait. Besides, I don't think each gun will come three stocks, but rather these would be optional configurations. Sort of like the M's. [ 12-07-2005, 06:39 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

Look out sdk, He's gonna sucker punch you in the knee!

I'd persist with CS. I've fired mine about 150 rounds with no damage to rings whatsoever. Sounds like there may be a problem with the surrounding parts.

I have no access to a pic, but the source of the information is a trusted one

Less recoil doesn't affect accuracy with regard to the operation of the rifle, because the recoil is repeated with each firing. However, recoil can easily cause flinching by the shooter, which in turn can greatly affect accuracy. With proper load development, some tweaking, and the right equipment behind the buttstock, the R1 is capable of 1-2 MOA accuracy. In rough translation, 1 MOA=1" at 100 yards. Click Here for a more in-depth explanation of MOA. I, personally would not buy an R1 for anything over 200-250 yards on deer-sized game. This is not what the gun was designed to do. If you want a really good beanfield rifle - right out of the box - look at the Savage line of bolt action rifles. There are many good long-range calibers in the 30 cal. / 7mm range, so I won't get into which caliber is best for you.

I believe he drove from NC to WV.

After reading another post on here about someone traveling an obscene distance to get a ComforTech R1, I curiously had a look around to see if I could find one that could be bought from the comfort of my keyboard. I found two. 300 Win. - $1129 30-06 - $1249 [ 12-06-2005, 10:45 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

shekaree, WOW! I hope that thing outshoots anything you've ever your hands on!

The Super Nova (NovaII) will feature interchangable stocks, including ComforTech, Pistol Grip, and Standard. There is a new trigger guard design as well as other features mentioned above.

Just different quarry under different circumstances. I don't even have iron sights on any of my rifles.
-
I use the Leupold Weaver style standard rings, not the QR's. I've got more scopes than I do rifles and pistols, so I've never had a reason to use the QR's.

I wouldn't use the oil on the camo film, but I suspect the salt environment is more to blame. If I were going to hunt in those conditions on a regular basis, I'd buy the plain finish and send it off to Birdsong or DiamondKote for a more durable finish.

One other thing to watch for on Inertia guns. Make sure the bolt is fully closed when loading. This is not an issue when letting the bolt slam closed by pressing the release button. But if you're in the blinds, and need to switch to BBB's because Canadas are circling, make sure that you push the bolt all the way forward after switching loads quietly. If you don't, those Canadas are going to leave there sounding more like laughing gulls.

The rattle is normal. Make sure you have completely removed any heavy grease from the weapon and that it is properly lubed. Your manual should also mention that the gun requires a break-in period to insure proper operation. Don't go out tomorrow with a box or two of target loads and be disappointed. Feed the SBEII a proper diet of heavy field loads and let her do what she was designed to do

The o-rings do not appear to be anything special, so you should be able to find replacements from any good hardware store. Most true hardwares (not Wal-Mart or Home Depot)will have a large assortment of o-rings which can be purchased individually. Most assortments even come with some sort of tool to aid in the finding of the proper size. I'm more interested in why our R1 keeps cutting them. This is something in which CS should also have been interested. Do you have any indication of how they're being cut? Are they tearing when you remove them for cleaning, or are they being damaged while the rifle is operating. Are you lubricating the o-rings after cleaning?

If convenient, try a base for a Browning BAR. 3 out of 5 should line up. If not, it is indeed drilled wrong.

barney, Why not go ahead and share ALL of the information? What loads are you using? Are your friends using the same loads? When someone hops on here and posts, "My gun don't work and it's crap!", it's either a troll or someone who doesn't know how to post. Forgive me for thinking your case was the former.
