  1. hmm.. what is the insert material? Al. or plastic? Any idea?
  2. I am pretty sure the starting bid (or reserve) on that auction was the $79.95 retail price originaly paid for that item. And when it sold for $1025.00 he shiped it fedex overnight for free...or so I heard. Sound like a nice person.
  3. I have seen them for sale at many internet places for the last two years, when I call they say they are unavailable but taking back-orders. I was not able to find them on the surefire site jftfi- where did you see them on surefire? (M80 Benelli M4 picatinny forend)
  4. The original tube does not have any markings. However it was machined (turned down) from a larger diameter tube (the same diameter as the shoulder against the receiver) One of the characteristics of an original would be a very fine, tight spiral groove along the body of the tube (where the tool cut off the excess material from the diameter in the lathe.) Color could be an indicator but Benelli keeps changing the color of their M4 barrels it would be hard to make a comparison. Socomguy makes an excellent tube. Unless you are looking for collector value (no idea if it would ever happen) I would recomend Socomguy.
  5. graphite powder works very well, and does not atract any grit.

    Red Dot sight on M4

are we talking about the benelli m4 or the carbine? for the scatergun I like the j-point or doctor optics (now imported by trijicon) kind of expensive but light as heck and bomb proof. For a carbine...i dunno
  7. the stock (the whole plastic assymble) unscrew counter-clockwise after the trigger pack has been removed. There is no need to unscrew any nuts, bolts or anything else. regards-d
  8. your stock will collapse, as M1014 posted, it is the tube and not the stock that is an issue.
  9. Remove the barrel and look down from the receiver end (of the barrel) toward the forcing cone, how many ports (small holes) do you see in the 5 and 7 O'clock positions?
  10. ...So....nice weather we are having, think it will be a hot summer?

  13. I am working on a sopmod M4 project and would like to know if the Nova mag tube will mate with the M4 receiver. If anyone has any info on this please share. If there are any Nova owners that can tell me the thread count (threads per inch) on the receiver end of the mag tube that would help very much as would a picture of the threads against a ruler or caliper. Anyone with both a Nova and M4 that could try mating them would be greatly appreacated. The far end of the mag tube does not concern me as much as it would be modified. Thank you. regards-d
  14. do a search on SBS on this forum. There is a lot of ideas floating around. I am looking at a simmilar project. -d

    M4 Choke Tubes

do a search on this forum for 'choke tubes' and I think you will be surprised what you can get for free. regards-d
  16. It should be very possable as the mag tube is one inch and many popular flashlight tubes are one inch. You would need a coupler to seal off the mag tube and attach the flashlight, you would also need to either measure the flashlight to ensure it tightly locks the barrel in the receiver when the flashlight was screwed into the mag tube, or alternately, have an adjustable lock ring of some sort on the flashlight tube for this purpose. Buy the light you want, then spend some time online looking for the misc. parts. Car preformance sites would have a lot of cool anodized aluminum conecters and stuff. Good luck.
  17. Looks very good kendal. good work.-d
  18. I am planning on having a system with a 18.5" barrel and full tube. 11" barrel and short tube (4+1+1) and then a screw in muzzel brake machined with a collar to make a 14" and standard tube (5+1+1). two barrels, three tubes, many options. On the 11" barrel the handguard retaining/forward sling mount ring would act as the barrel retaining ring. Just something to do.

  20. four inches would not make much of a difference (to me) but the measuring and mock-up I did in the begining of the post would make an 11" barrel. That would be interesting. Who makes the 11 round drum? regards-d
  21. You are right sir, we need someone to manufacture a twenty round drum mag for the entry version. In all seriousness it is not about the money, it is just something to do.
  22. I second that, get the factory repairs and parts while they are still under waranty.
  23. The configuration I wanted was not available in a U.S. made model. I do support domestic if available, and I always support the man who has an idea. Give me a guy with a dream, pencil and paper and access to a garage and you can acomplish anything. I also have a wish to decrease the import "parts count." However this thread is about interest for a U.S. piston and my earlier post was not meant to distract from that. -regards - d
