Field Test - Federal Flight Control with Multiple Chokes
Unobtanium replied to Mike Grasso's topic in Benelli
You kinda make me wish I still had my M4. My M16A4 clone is still on back-order. -
Local shop here has a NIB M4 in black for $1,650+FFL transfer fees if anyone is interested. Just thought I would give a heads-up.

Awesome! You will love it!

M4 Slug gun? "How to" advice sought. In pursuit of venison.
Unobtanium replied to a topic in Benelli
Using a Trulock MOD choke, my M4 would print clusters at 50 yards off the bench using irons. This was also with me flinching against 1oz 1760fps 3" slugs. Offhand at 50 using 2-3/4 I was able to get nice 4-6" groups. -
http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/m4.tpl Click on "specifications" It only lists it as coming with "C" choke, which is a new development as it used to list it as MOD.

My M4 ate anything, but OOO 3" Remington Buckshot was BY FAR the tightest grouping buckshot. I have targets at 40 yards that show 70-80% patterns in a small-statured person's chest area. They were normal patterns. Not hand-picked. YMMV, and probably will.

Benelli's website states that it only comes with one choke at this time. Mod. Also, Benelli's wrench not being included is a favor. It will inspire to purchase a Briley speed wrench so your choke tube can be tightened PROPERLY. I dicked around with the Benelli wrench for about 2 months before finally breaking down right before selling my M4 and buying a Briley. I never had another choke tube become loose when shooting. Ever. The Briley put an end to it.

It nestled just fine in my M4 follower when I looked at it. However, if you have a spring that is designed exactly for this application, I would recommend someone try it (I recently sold my M4).
-
I have used Wolf, Surecycle, an Benelli springs designed for the 7-shot tube. Benelli is the only one I will run or recommend to those I care about. The Benelli spring is just a lot "stiffer" and I have NEVER had a jam with the correct 7-shot spring. The 40" Wolf (I think it was 40", it was billed as for a 7-shot tube) and 36" Surecycle both were full of fail. Just my experience with my former M4 S90.

Only if he doesn't replace it with something else anti-Obamanastic!

If I use a 10' garden-hose with an adjustable nozzle set a certain way, and then unscrew it and put it on a 50' garden hose (leaving it set the same way), assuming similar water-pressure at the nozzle. What difference in spray do I achieve? ETA: I saw someone beat me to the analogy.

If you pay S&H both ways I will unscrew the field stock and install the PG stock for $35. Should just unscrew/screw on.

Any good ideas for removing scuffs from barrel exterior?
Unobtanium replied to shotgunNoob's topic in Benelli
CLP and scrub, if that won't get it, nothing but a re-finish will. -
IM DUGGAN! The poor guy keeps missing these threads.

I would run something LED for sure. Just about any quality LED would work. LED's are not sensitive to shock nearly as much as incans. DO NOT run a shock isolated bezel with LED either, it does nothing for you but cut down on heat transfer to the flashlight---which is what you want. LED's need to get rid of heat ASAP, and a metal bezel is mandatory imho, WITHOUT shock isolation.

Don't use LaRue with the M4 rail unless you like wasting lots of money. Benelli's rail eats the LaRue as it is not M1913 spec. +1 on the Fastfire/ DR / other mini reddots. They work well and sit very low, just mount it with something other than LaRue. LaRue makes great stuff, it's just M1913 spec

My M4 fed anything I put through it, including Win-Lite low-recoil OO 9-pellet.

Thinking of swapping Benelli SN with THIS...for home defense

Go for the 590A1 -
I have tried Kick's (all different constrictions) and none worked very well past 25 yards. I bought a Primos Dead Deer choke and with OO 3" remington Buck I was getting 40-50% of my pellets on a 14x18 target at 50 yards. So far the BEST buckshot choke/combo I tried was Remington3" 000 Buck and a Trulock MOD choke. At 40 yards I was getting 70-80% patterns on 14x18" targets consistantly. By 50 yards the pattern had fallen apart, but 70-80% with OOO buck at 40 yards aint bad.

Post your arsenal! (pics of course if not then just say what you have)
Unobtanium replied to Nikolai552's topic in Benelli
Lol AK's jam too. I would take an AR any day. -
I bought (and recently sold) an M4. I had ZERO complaints about the weapon. It is one of 2 weapons I have owned that have NEVER had a non-user induced malfunction. If I were to buy another combat shotgun. It would be an M4. Period.
-
I broke a LaRue mount with my M4, granted, the M4 doesn't have a real pic. rail on it, which is ghey imho. Just my experience...

There is only one main problem. NONE OF YOU have addressed why this is being done. It is being done beause the government has grown top-heavy and fears it's populace, thus it wishes to disarm them. Think about it. I know we all dislike the platform Obama, Biden, Clinton, ect. stood on, but also look at this. NONE of those 3 are stupid people. If they were stupid, they would not be in the positions they are in. They know darn well that guns don't cause crime, and that crime rates where guns have been made illegal have soared. Yet they want to do it here. Why? Because that is part of their agenda in securing the ultimate supremacy for themselves. Look at history, I think you will see this exact scenario has played itself out dozens of times in the past, state supremacy flying under the flag of "benefitting the common good." The only reason writing to your senator may help is because he fears for the very thing he is trying to consolidate with this legislature--his position of power.
