  1. well thats not good...I'm actually surprised that the shim kit didn't come with the stock I think at the very least you need that metal lock plate, you should be able to use the nut and lock washer from your PG.
  2. Did you get the shims with the new stock, or have them from the old stock? Look in your manual toward the end ~p86 and it shows a picture of how the shims etc are setup in the comfortech stock. So if you can get the pistol grip off, and have the shims to go with the comfortech it should be as easy as: reciever->plastic shim->stock->metal locking plate->lock washer->nut
  3. they're pretty alright, but not 4500 dollars pretty as far as I'm concerned...
  4. +1 on the ebay/gunbroker I'm sure you can find one there, may not be 160 though... There is one on gunbroker now for 200, but in the other thread I posted a link to a comfortech stock/forearm that was selling for 100 Look around and if you can find one at a price you can live with then get it and cancel your dealer order, if not at least you can say that you explored all the options.
  5. What did you end up doing to make it happen? (by happen I mean work)
  6. Pics C? Any old website could have given me all that rundown So you really REALLY like the charging handle? I've been thinking about that upgrade, but each time I end up with "the stock one isnt bad" but I guess I could be convinced...
  7. Did you already try something like this? http://www.militec1.com/firearms/manual26.html or the official way to describe what I was thinking: B) using the cartridge drop lever (when the cartridge is coming from the magazine) 1) Rest the stock on your hip and pull the cocking lever to open the bolt: the cartridge in the chamber is extracted and ejected from the gun (fig. 25). 2) Press the cartridge drop lever and release the cocking lever to reclose the bolt. In this way, the cartridge will pass quickly from the magazine to the chamber.
  8. Its really easy, the hardest part as far as I was concerned was getting the buttpad off. After that just make sure that you keep the shims the way they were and dont over tighten the nut when you put the stock back on.
  9. Welcome to the forum. I would think you could get one from your dealer, and you might want to check to see what they would charge/how long you would have to wait if it needed to be ordered. Personally I would get something like that off a place like gunbroker. Probably cheaper than the dealer and I would think faster. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=133835136 I have an M2 Field too and it works beautifully, good choice.
  10. maybe I'm not understanding what you are doing completely but it sounds like you put one in the chamber and 7 in the tube, then pulled back on the charging handle getting the one in the chamber out, then further pulls on the handle do nothing? If so I would say you have 2 options: (my favorite) shoot them out. or hold the bolt open and press the cartridge drop lever (the one with the red dot on it)

    New Benelli

nice, hopefully she'll be as reliable as your guns
  12. While not necessarily a performance issues I bought a new 870 not too long ago and there are 3 things that I don't like: 1. center of balance is a little too far forward for me, its like most of the weight is in the forehand and I would prefer it more middle action. 2. Bolt release is uncomfortable, its just this little tab essentially rather than a button, so it would really beat up my hands if I had to use it too much. 3. overall finish, the parts of the gun just felt cheap this time around, no rounded corners, I actually scratched myself good on the edge of the rib. with a benelli everything is rounded off and it just looks better. Again these are just annoyances I had with the 870, but something to consider if you are really picky.
  13. Shooting at night is really fun, if you get a chance do it, you find out that smokeless powder isnt As far as targets you can buy targets specifically for patterning but I wouldn't do that. What I ended up doing is getting a roll of blank newspaper ~45" wide and stapled squares to a cardboard box. What you are looking for is something about 40" square, so things like the sides of refrigerator boxes would work well. I wouldn't spend money because you are shooting this paper or whatever basically once and then throwing it away for a new sheet so unless you want to frame your perfect shot its just not worth it. Then I just put a small black square in the middle of the sheet so I knew where I was aiming and let fly. Nothing too complex.
  14. No. I have fired my M2 from the hip and it cycled perfectly. The gun needs to travel backward in order to compress the BCG spring, so in theory if you put the stock against a brick wall that would cause it to not cycle.
  15. You should take a little time and pattern your gun with the chokes you have to see whats really happening. When I patterned my M2 I was kind of surprised that it was hitting a little to the right of POA, plus you can see if the MOD is open enough to let birds through.
  16. you know duggan yours doesnt look too bad for all the abuse you say it gets, or maybe you just got its good side
  17. Rabbits are much easier if you get them before they hit the ground the first time
  18. Agreed, but you see how close that marker is to the trigger? I mean what if it dry fired? That would be a tragedy...it would fall out of the "never been touched by human hands" category
  19. I'm gonna go with Duggan on this one, the detail is exquisite but I would like to see some action shots...you know birds folding, empty shells coming out... I also dont get why the safety is off for a photoshoot haha..
  20. I saw that chart actually, it could be true, but I would need to shoot to tell if there was really any difference. A chart can say a lot but its all in how it shoots.
  21. Nonsense, be different thats half the fun! You spent good money on that M4, no sense in renting a different gun...besides I would bet you would get some questions about why you chose such a gun from people who have only ever touched O/Us and have no idea what an M4 is all about Some clubs are like retirement communities, everybody has the same O/Us and shoots the same loads through the same chokes and it just gets boring in a hurry Now I dont know how familiar you are with skeet but the game is all about the swing so the 18" barrel may "hurt" you a bit there, but I would expect that you could get at least 8 birds at station 1 and station 7 (one right under the high, and the one right by the low) as at those two stations the birds are basically coming straight toward you or straight away...
  22. Tyson you are new here, and it shows...CALM DOWN...take TWO deep breaths... If you would have taken a second to check out duggan's threads to this forum you would see that he has constructively contributed to this forum and that this post was a joke, and if you weren't so uptight in the first place you might have found it as funny as some of us did. Now to your gun, for something that serious I would not play around on this forum, either go back to the place you bought it and ask for a refund/exchange, take it to a real live gunsmith, or call Benelli CS and see what happens. This forum is a great source of information, but for something that serious there is only so much a person can do without having it in their hands...
  23. Not totally, to me it depends how likely you are going to need to use it. In real life I live in town in a small house in a decent neighborhood. Crime is pretty low in the area so I'm not really worried, in fact I wouldn't give a second thought about not having an HD weapon there. But since I have a nice M2 anyway I figured it could serve a dual role. So I put 5 rounds of 00 in it with the chamber empty (mag extension). As it turns out this house has one hallway that leads to the bedrooms and I can see a good portion of the hallway from my room so I figured if something bad happens I just chamber the first of 5 and sit...I'm not going to be a house hunter as it were. Now if I lived in a high crime neighborhood where breakins were common, I would likely keep a round in the chamber and get a real HD gun instead of just dual purposing my M2
  24. I voted 45 ACP because of the semi-auto function. I have never had any problems with semi pistols using factory ammo. Same goes for shotguns, I would have chosen the shotgun if you gave the semi auto option. In a high-stress situation I want point and shoot with lots of ammo just in case, I'm counting on the ammo and gun being more reliable than me. The trigger travel and limited ammo knocks the revolver down, and the pumping of the shotgun moves that to second. Semi auto pistol can have 10+ rounds of ammo and all I have to do is pull the trigger.
