  1. Unless you have a special version over there in the UK put down the hacksaw. The magazine cap unscrews and you take out the magazine snap ring. The extension will simply screw on the end of the current magazine tube and lock against the forend. Takes about 5 minutes and some snap ring pliers to make it happen.
  2. Without knowing the guys at the range I'm going to echo the disgruntled skeet shooter angle. You probably came in and kicked their butt with a non-retirement community gun ($4k wood O/U) and someone thought they would humble you. Especially since the sight was all the way one way and you could realign the sight with relative ease. I would have a hard time thinking you could do that if one of the internals was that badly damaged.
  3. Carlsons has a bunch for the crio plus line including extended versions. http://www.choketube.com/crio-plus.html

Guns, girls, and beer....what else is there? Though personally girls seem to win more money than guns, I recently bought an AR (DPMS) in 338 Federal to make up the difference
  5. Somewhere around a +7/+8 for a total of ~11-12 shots depending on if you cared if it stuck out a bit past the muzzle or not. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=118138 This guy M1014 has something similar on his SBE here: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20092 I don't know where exactly he got his extension, but it looks like a nordic components anyway.
  6. I use my M2 field with a +2 extension and a trimmed spring for trap and skeet regularly. It has never failed me. Tricks are easy peasy with a 7 shot capacity. I don't know that an extension on the Vinci is possible right now but I know there are several extensions available for the M2/SBEII. If you are only going to be doing trap then you are probably going to only be using 2-3/4" shells so I would nudge you toward an M2.
  7. Agreed, make sure that your magazine follower (the red plastic piece in the magazine tube) can slide easily still, but it might be time to replace your spring.
  8. My M2 clicked once every 100 rounds or so for the first 1000, but now it's smooth as silk. Carrying it around is no issue for me either, I have never had it pop out of battery while playing around.
  9. He probably gets tired of people coming to him and the converstation going like this: random person: "My benelli doesnt work right it *insert common problem here*" rep: "well when was the last time you cleaned it?" random person: "Hmm maybe 2 duck seasons ago..." rep: "alright well I would start there" random person: "This is a $1500 gun! it should work great I'm tired of you benelli guys ignoring my simple questions!" rep: "alright..." Imagine if people complained about cars the same way they complain about guns and computers... "Yeah detroit, your car sucks! I paid a lot of money for this car, I shouldnt have to do anything to it to make it work, I never changed the oil, and I ran it pedal to the metal and now it is crashed...."
  10. Dont worry, it will be worth it. It's sad to me that a short bolt handle would have gotten so far without being noticed...o well. The M2 is an amazing shotgun you won't be disappointed.
  11. If there isnt a lot left to get that 7th in you could cut the spring 1/2 a loop at a time until you can get them all in. I did that with a +2 on my M2 and got it to be a +3
  12. Easy Peasy: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17814
  13. Hey Mark, I got a Remington 870 a few months back and I was just wondering does yours feel "rough" to you? I mean in things like finish quality/rounded edges etc. Maybe I have become spoiled with the M2, but I just wasn't impressed with the overall quality. Not saying I was disappointed per se, it just wasn't the same level as my previous Remington experiences.
  14. Here is the slot I mentioned, just make sure that you put that front part so that it goes into this slot.
  15. When you say "protrusion" do you mean this: If so thats normal. The only thing I can say is make sure you are lining that up with the slot on the bolt. If you are then I think its a ball issue and you can try removing the detent to see if you can spot anything obviously wrong. Failing that Benelli CS might be the answer.
  16. When you say jammed hanging out do you mean the shell is unfired, hanging out of the ejection port and the bolt is closed on it? General advice is to oil the rails where the BCG meets the receiver and fire some heavier loads. What kind of shells are you running now?
  17. roughed up? yes, especially hunting you will get some surface scratches/nicks falling apart? no, if you had a picture maybe that would help determing if it was really falling apart
  18. M4=FAIL at walnut stock...probably be the only thing it has ever failed at

    How Long???

Well you can obviously post now so.... 1. You should be able to post threads instantly, no moderation stops you there. 2. Why does it matter that your membership is still active?
  20. If the gun needs to have a walnut stock go with the Monte, you will save yourself the trouble of switching out the stocks on the M2. You could also look at the Sport II for the walnut. I have an M2 that I use for hunting and for semi-competition and it performs beautifully. You really won't be disappointed in either.
  21. I'm gonna go with novaking and say 11 or count-1, I would have a hard time believing that the spring and follower could be smashed down into that last inch...
  22. No disrespect Ohio but calling the downfall of western civilization because people like to play with realistic looking guns seems a bit drastic. These air soft guns are used by kids and adults alike who like to "wargame". And I'm pretty sure it is the adults who like those sports that drive the realism aspect. As you pointed out because they are very realistic they can be used in some training situations. I'm sure most of us have had an experience teaching a new person where the thought "I knew I should have worn my bulletproof vest today" flashed across our minds. Yes you do have to add a more rigorous explanation of real vs toy gun identification. But I'm sure your grandson isn't stupid, and will catch on quickly. I think if you are straightforward with him then you won't have too many issues. That said I agree with the other posters that you, being one of the few conduits to real gun knowledge in the family, should present him with a real gun. Knowing how to handle a real gun prepares you for air soft, knowing how to handle air soft does not prepare you for a real gun.
  23. Everything they said is mostly true, however you need to think about what YOU are doing. Lets say you get a "cheap" gun, and the rifled barrel "only" costs you $200, then you add a scope for say $150, then you start shooting $3 slugs. You probably will get better accuracy out of that setup over a smooth bore, especially at 100+ yards. But look you spent $200+$150+$30(shells to sight in) for the opportunity. For me, who gets to hunt deer for about 5 days out of the year, I cannot justify spending that kind of money for 2 kills per year tops. On top of that most of the shots I have are So my advice is this: take a look at how much you hunt and at what ranges. If the answer is only a few days and short, I would say save your money. If the answer is sometimes and far, then the rifled barrel and all that might be worth it. If the answer is often and far buy a rifle.
  24. I'll echo the "bad shells" sentiment going around. But one thing you could try is take your barrel off and see if you can slide a round easily into the chamber with your hand and see how easily it comes out. If it is really difficult the shells might be grabbing after being shot hence ripping the brass off. Its a long shot, if your chamber was that tight I would think chambering would be an issue as well, but you could give it a try.
  25. Agreed, trying to take a snap ring off without snap ring pliers is like trying to open a bag of chips with one hand.
