  1. Being a resident of Illinois I can tell you that this place is rough but I dunno if it is THAT rough haha. Pelican cases are awesome, I have 2 of the 1750 variety. However I think I'm going to have to go with Duggan on this one and say I would have much rather picked a stock 1770 case and did the cutting myself and saved a few hundred...but I'm glad you like it at any rate.
  2. Glad to hear you had a good buy. My only question/concern is when you say the new spring is 3" longer than the factory one. If it seems like it will work then great, but 3" doesn't seem that much longer when we are talking about going from a limited tube to a full length (unless I misunderstood somewhere). When I got a +2 extension for my gun the new spring was quite a bit longer than the factory and I ended up cutting it down some. I'm sure at some point someone with more knowledge about the full length springs will chime in. Again glad to hear it worked out well for you. O and welcome to the forum.
  3. We'll see, I'd be interested in knowing too. Though 3M's datasheet gives the temp range of their tape to be up to 200F and I would think it would take an awful lot of shooting to heat the barrel up that much.
  4. You could probably do something like black duracoat to "re-finish" it cheaply and easily. I have a gun of that same model and while it is a decent gun, it sure makes you appreciate the quality of a benelli auto, nice find.
  5. Something like this might be more your speed
  6. IIRC its a 1911 magazine release custom mounted. You can put a pad on your gun by drilling and tapping a hole through the button then you can make whatever pad you want if commercial options aren't what you want or are too pricey.
  7. THIS. Probably not the end of the world, but I wouldn't let it happen again either...
  8. ftp://ftp.benelli.it/Public/UM_SPL/G0262600.PDF Page 2 should get you the diagram you want I don't know about getting the safety out but the diagram should go a long way toward getting that out eloquently.
  9. If you were desperate you could call/e-mail benelli CS for the p#
  10. Like this? (pictures toward bottom) http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20660&page=5 What turned out to be the issue there was the carrier latch. Had it not already gone off to benelli I would suggest starting there. Hopefully Benelli will get it all straightened out.
  11. Your post here lacks a lot of definitive facts and numbers... "jam jam jam" define jam? is it a fail to load? fire? eject? Without knowing what type of jam you are talking about it is very hard for me to believe that the "anti-float" notch would have anything to do with anything. I have nothing but good things to say about my gun, its relatively new, has the "anti-float" notch and eats cheap shells like candy. I just got back from a 1,000 round competition in Texas and not a single jam with my M2. I can understand you being frustrated with 2 guns that just don't seem to work, I would suggest going the Benelli CS route as they have been nothing but nice with me AND/OR post something here. There are lots of smart people on this board and maybe some of them have the answer.

  13. Agreed, however in real life the SBEII and related M2 eats 1oz loads like candy. I don't shoot any 7/8 so I can't comment from direct knowledge. If you are really wanting 7/8 oz I would go with a 20ga instead, otherwise keep it to 1oz and you should have no problem.
  14. *In his best Crocodile Dundee voice* "Thats not a gun, THIS is a gun" http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=163073871

  16. THIS. As far as my personal opinion goes: NEED is a big word, you probably don't NEED to clean your gun ever. However, packing grease or not, I cannot think of one single bad thing that can come from you cleaning your gun before you shoot it. Unless of course you count not being able to get it back together after you tear it apart...but if that is the case you were going to be in trouble no matter when that happened, best to get it out of the way now
  17. Welcome Kuba, hopefully you find everything you are looking for here and more. Are you looking at a particular model? Not that it really matters which model but I figured I would be nosy. I have an M2 field that I have had for a few years now and I tend to put about 1500 rounds through it per semester for various target sports in regular practice. Total rounds at this point are probably close to 6-7k and it is running like a champ. Some people on here have 6k between cleanings on their gun. Eventually the springs will wear out but at that point I'll just get new ones and will be back to the races. I wouldn't be worried about longevity/durability with Benellis, in my case I have been nothing but happy with mine.
  18. Looks nice. Do you have an approx price point in mind? Will you have chokes for all of the benelli styles?
  19. After you shoot them when they are on the ground bleeding out waiting for the cops to get there...though I guess if you did the job right they wouldn't have much of a response
  20. If you meant isn't a big deal I will totally agree. Its a shotgun, you are swinging all over the place and have a spread (slugs excepted) and are shooting generally shorter distances than you would with a rifle, thus the trigger pull simply isn't as important as it is on a rifle. The OP wanted a new/better trigger for personal reasons and thats fine, but I don't know that I would go so far as to call the stock trigger junk.
  21. Huh, I see that now...thats too bad
  22. Yeah, I have never been a big fan of the full on camo gun, but this one looks pretty nice. Now, I would be interested to see what their black silver marble coating would look like on the stock and forearm only of my jet-black m2
  23. Nice indeed. Did you have to disassemble the stock, ie take those little chevrons/buttpad/comb out, or did you send that complete an they made it happen?
