I wonder how that would hold up on the stock of the M4?

That truck is so shot up that it's not even fun anymore. You can't tell where you even hit. It would be very hard to even determine what type of truck it is. The police found dynamite under it a year or two ago. They tried to light it on fire but nothing happened. No blasting cap. Fail. They were to chicken to dig the sticks back out from under it too. The Mojave is a great place for training. It is very similar to the middle east. This area is close to Afghanistan. The T1 really is cheating. It makes it a very effective slug gun out at 75 yards. You hear that sum-***** hit like a ton of bricks down range. This was the first time I really ran the Benelli with LaRues machinegunners oil. Cleaning after my 250 rounds was a waste of time. It was pretty much clean and still had plenty of lubricant in the action. Do not run your M4 dry. They no like. It was so clean that I didn't even bother spraying out the action with breakfree like usual.

That front sight is a PITA. I bought a replacement nut from brownells. It has a nyloc ring in it. I also added some blue thread locker. Since cranking this nut down isn't an option. An open ended 5.5mm wrench is required. This thing could have easily been designed better honestly.

I'm not usually a fan of meprolights, but they got it right on the M4. The rear sights tritium dots are very small. Almost pin pricks. They're not really there to align with the front post. They're there to give a visual reference to where the rear ghost ring is when aligning your face to the weapon during dark conditions.

Here are a couple shots from yesterday. I ran about 250 rounds through the M4. Around 200 low brass, and a remaining mix of high brass buck and slugs. Some of which was 3" magnum shells. I inspected the rail afterward to check for any damage to the top rail. None was observed. Not even any kind of contact marks. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2695/4117045418_79279e57a1_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2612/4116275373_087f806e0b_b.jpg

Surefire M80 rail too. Quite detailed really. Surefire helmet light on his head too.

The world has a mass of 6,600,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons. x 2000 = 13,200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 pounds. x 16 = 211,200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 ounces. Given that is the amount of ounces the world weighs, we now use the .63% figure for the scant amount of Titanium on the planet. We get 1,330,560,000,000,000,000,000,000 ounces of Titanium. The tubes weigh in at 5.5 ounces each. If Kip makes 241,920,000,000,000,000,000,000 magazine tubes, the world will be out of Titanium!!! Alert Obama! At 189 dollars, Kip will have a revenue of $45,722,880,000,000,000,000,000,000.00 dollars.

Never had an issue on my M4. I usually crank it down as tight as I can.

GG&G Bolt Release Design Concepts Titanium Bolt Handle, no longer produced. Kip is designing one that is similar. The design Concepts is 8.5 grams. Stock handles are 12.5 grams. GG&G's are 24 grams. Lighter is better. Heavier slows the cyclic rate.

The riser looks pretty nice. As soon as they're released, I'm buying two. I want to use a padded VTAC and push button releases for it. I was out with the M4 the other night for about eight hours. Some sling options would be great. I hate the factory rear mount loop. It hampers my ability to pull the stock into my shoulder pocket from a slung position.

Here is a recent photo of mine with the T-1 and the Scout mounted on the SideArmor. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2610/3988993659_71edbe8df8_b.jpg

What are your goals for the rail? Kips offering will be an extremely high quality replacement for the factory rail.

The T1 works fine for me with the factory pistol grip stock. However, I don't hail from the shire. With Mesa's coming Urbino, it'll be better. I'm interested to see if the cheek riser is a benefit or not.

Duracoat would do okay, but there is nothing you can apply to the rubber grip that will hold up to any type of use. The rubber butt pad would also be better left black. Springer Precision would probably do the coating for you for a good price.

As long as he doesn't look like the hamburglar, that's ok! I'd wager to say that the Benelli spring is being compressed beyond its intended compression point. Consider this, when the magazine tube is full, there is still a quarter inch or so that you can push the stack of rounds in. This means the spring is completely compressed. The coils are side by side with no room or play. To protect the spring, they'd need a longer tube in order to prevent over compression. No one wants that on their gun. The Wolf may take a set in time also. But if it works for 10k rounds, I'll gladly replace it then. A good spring is mandatory if you're going to start messing with the cyclic action by installing lightweight charging handles and so on. If that shell isn't on the elevator by the time the bolt is to the rear, it will cause jams and slow the BCG down. The problem is amplified by using low brass loads. The problem is usually encountered on the last one or two rounds in the magazine due to low spring tension. Just listening to the Benelli after I put Kips spring in is drastically different. It's not the spring you hear. It's the action working much smoother. I constantly listen to the action when shooting low brass or low recoil ammunition since the M4 is such a great shotgun, I'm ready to fire again before the action has cycled. If you pull the trigger again while it is cycling after the elevator drops, the disconnector is disengaged and you will end up with the hammer down on a live round. -
By the title, I thought you were pissed at it!

I left my M4 loaded with the stock spring for almost five years with a full length extension. It cycled 10 - 12 thousand rounds in that period of time. The magazine worked fine during this period of time. Kip's spring has a lot more tension. Springs usually are damaged from over compression or due to compression cycles. Springs do not wear out due to being loaded for long periods of time. If you're really concerned, down load one round. That way you also have room to insert a specialty round if needed. Such as a slug. -

If you shoot a perp with the M4 and he's still kicking, you're doing it wrong. Or you're a retard using birdshot in a defense gun. In a few months, you'll be able to grab Mesa's shortened LOP stock, one of these aftermarket tubes and a magazine follower. All parts made in the good ol USA. 922 no longer applies due to meeting the BATF&E's retarded foreign made parts count. Then no one will have to hear about this stupid ass law that has never been enforced.

Dented tubes are no fun. However, the reduced weight of Kips is more valuable than the strength. The M4 is heavy as is, any reduction in weight is money well spent.

In mine, the 7th is tight. You know it's the last round going in. Kip said that you can trim a half coil at a time until the tension is where you want. The less you trim, the better obviously. Kips spring ejects the round with authority compared to the wimpy stock spring. The action cycles better with Kips. When firing ***** loads, you'll notice it the most. FWIW, I don't have the spring retention device in mine. Never knew I was missing it. My M4 never had it. So the magazine cap is all that retains my spring. Perhaps I have a little extra length than those who do? -
8 shell Mesa plus a T1 makes my receiver threads hurt. Awesome mount. If I mangle my LaRue mount, I'll give this one a try. The full cross lug should be sufficient to keep the optic from moving on these out of spec center cut rails.

Congrats. I've got another one coming in in November. ordered one up for my cell mate. -
Looks pretty similar to the M4 in design. Have you tried pushing in hard? Or applied some oil? It looks like a ball detent in the bolt carrier retains the charging handle. If it is still a NO GO, then it is time to call Benelli.
