Guest cleefurd Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 (edited) The anodizing samples came back nicely done. We will contact them regarding present lead times, and list them as soon as they are less than 3 weeks from our dock. There will be a limitted # of these paired sets available (Muzzle Brake -plus- Matching I/C choke) due to QC problems from our externally threaded choke supplier. Of the chokes we sourced, only 2/3rds were correct or otherwise up to our standards. Standard OEM style Muzzle end. 7/8-24 thread to match OEM choke threads. Guest cleefurd Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) Define Limited. We ordered 25 externally threaded chokes from Royal Arms for assessment, only 18 of them were equivalent to what we would be proud to distribute. 18 = limited considering the # of brakes we manufactured. Good news is the 18 indicated what Royal Arms is capable of. Bad news is the other 7 represent an unacceptable rate of rejection. To complicate matters we are not optimistic this would improve based on the broad array of rejection characteristics. For this reason the decision was made to wait until we can negotiate with another vender, to aquire a custom run. Before we do so we wish to have consumer feedback from this preliminary release (18 sets) as a basis for what if any revisions we might incorporate into the said custom run. Guest cleefurd Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) Interesting. Are you excited for this launch? Very much so. Progress is good. Thanks for asking Duggan. It's been a hectic few years. Each plateau is bitter-sweet, knowing that we raised the bar on ourselves, and failure is never an option. Hence the lack of haste, and philosophy that "slow and steady wins...." approach to continued 100% consumer satisfaction. Edited June 6, 2010 by cleefurd Quote
KB Fab Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I'll buy one of the preliminaries if available Kip. I have a shoot coming up in July that will put my M4 through it's paces and would be a good opportunity for a test. Just sayin'. Quote
Ezequiel 25:17 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Would appreciate being included in the initial offering as well. Thank you!! Quote
quad44 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) Are there any pictures and a cost? ________ Disct@2 Edited May 12, 2011 by quad44 Quote
LeoAtrox Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Very intersted in one myself. Don't care about the cost or the visuals (though I would like a picture too). Just happy to get the latest from a fellow Devil Dog. Not that my support is needed; the niche is already carved I think. Quote
OhioM4 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Kip had some picture posted on his website. I think there may be minor changes as there was some mention of an improved mounting system. The choke tube may be different as well but the overall appearance should be the same. http://photos.carriercomp.com/GalleryThumbnails.aspx?gallery=210213 Quote
Jackalope33B Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Hey Kip, I am interested in the Muzzle Brake for the M4, and also a Magazine tube. Quote
taylaboy Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Kip, I also am interested. Do you have any photos or additional information on this product? I know you will probably be swamped with questions as it is. Sorry to throw wood on the fire. T Quote
kpura Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I love my tube, and would be in for a set as well. Quote
Guest cleefurd Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I'm in...does this line really matter? It does. By my count 13 of the 18 are spoken for ...tentatively... This will negate listing the preliminary release, until a more consistent choke source is found. Any member may re-cant if the photos (will post this evening) differ from what was expected. FYI these are the same brakes that have been awaiting anodizing for many months, while we sourced a good finisher, and wrapped up the picatinny rails. The design mirrors what Benelli would other-wise still sell if their hands were not bound by unfortunate legislation. The only difference is the addition of a minute "US" stamp which we'll show in the photos within 24 hrs. The stamp is prudent since it (the brake)entails a "muzzle device/attachment" as defined by 922R. Quote
tactical1 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) Kip - glad to pre-pay if your beer funds begin to run low...........also put me in line for one of your M4 Bolt Handles and a freshly anodized picatinny rail - ship at ur convenience. Edited June 7, 2010 by tactical1 Quote
