  1. I would recommend extended AND ported. Briley's claims that it reduces recoil (a slight amount) and... it looks even "cooler" (if that is our measure of decision). Look at Briley.com
  2. O.K., then you're a SMART duck! Let's hype THAT and see how many buy into it! ...first we'll need to make a cheezy movie trailer... I see a duck wearing Einstein glasses... and we'll need a better-looking chick than the Benelli boys used... she wears glasses too but when they fall off, her chest catches them. (Get the picture?) Sky's the limit! Then when a certain pre-announced date comes, we'll just say, "Oh, we were just kidding."
  3. Answer: You must have been in the "Twilight Zone." If you are old enough to understand that, then you are old enough to know that "hype" has taken over our lives and reality is in the back seat. Just MHO. Quien Sabe!
  4. My 1977 Browning Sweet Sixteen system with the cartirdge shut-off lever is MUCH more efficient and easy to deal with. Taken me a lot of time to get used to the Benelli Montefeltro system. It's a pain in the rear. And... my right thumb gets really sore (for a week or more) trying to shove shells into the over-springed magazine tube. Lately it seems that "progress" is always a step backwards... (e.i., Obama.) P.S. You guys tried to buy any ammo lately? No 9mm in my community today. I am supposed to do the CHL course this weekend but can find no ammo! What's a guy to do? No 9 mm... AND... No 16 gauge, and 20 gauge is getting scarce. Plenty of 12 gauge still. You know what we were all dreading after election day... I think IT'S HAPPENING!!!
  5. Furthermore: "NO" means not safe for steel shot, and "OK" means o.k. for steel shot.
  6. I use the Briley extended light modified for quail AND dove. Best pattern from my gun... and I tested many.
  7. To tilt it so we can SEE it (and make a better photo).
  8. Nope, not a member... but my buddy is and we are allowed to 'ride his coat-tails' on member benefits. It's a good deal.
  9. Good God, Tucker... how do you know all this stuff? Can you help me with my taxes?
  10. This kind of stuff is why they call us Seniors. Way to go, 1014. But I maintain that Duggan is cool, now especially that we know he is a young nipper. He knows his sheist pretty good. Went to a hunting preserve here in Texas today and my two buddies and I got 26 quail and 4 pheasant! It's legal, by the way... hunting preserves can put out birds past the state season. Great dogs and one of the best hunts I've been on considering that we only put out 30 quail (you pay for that) and did so well. Take a look at Top Flight Hunting Preserve on the internet... that's where we were. Piece... oops! (younger years coming back... in honor of Duggan!)... I meant Peace!
  11. You Badd!... (and we love it!)
  12. Yep, it does in my Montefeltro but I wasn't sure about the SuperSport so I didn't mention it. One thing though... you gott'a hold on the both the forend AND the barrel when tilting are they WILL fall off!
  13. Yea, gotta' slow down and smell the roses. Those are beautiful shotguns. When folks want to bad-mouth anything that doesn't look like a piece of warfare, you just want to say, (in Italian dialect), "Whatsa' matta' for you? Youa don'ta gotta' no respect?" But Duggan is cool... he's just jiving with you. (I am also a 'senior citizen as I gather you are, not sure about Duggan but he makes some really helpful posts and seems to know his stuff).
  14. So... which is it? In the previous post you said you had removed it. Then you say it can't be done without damage? Your gun IS a 4+1 capacity so there IS a plug and it can be removed without damage. It starts with unscrewing the end cap. Unless you use a pair of rusty channel-locks, I don't see where the damage is going to happen? Sorry just confused about your last two back-to-back posts. Enlighten us. What' going on?
  15. ...bas ass? Is that the same as bassackward? Sorry, couldn't resist and just wanted to beat Tucker to the punch. Just kidding around. Someone needs to invent an intuitive keyboard... you know, one that will print what we meant even if we accidentally hit a wrong key! That would be BAD ASS! Have a goodun'.
  16. I went with the HiViz CompSight PM1002. Comes with screws to fit most guns, including the 3-56 size you need. It has several interchangeable light pipes so you can decide if red, green, or white does best for you. I really like it and it looks boss.
  17. Cleefurd... whatever drugs you have in the house... I want some. What terrific inspired insight. We could ALL use some of that.
  18. I'm glad I posted it even if it's bogus... it IS funny!
  19. Know what you mean... I just went through that with my wife... new Silestone counter-top, sink, range, etc. Next week comes the hardwood floors. I think this sets me up for a new gun? I wrestled with the decision on the Ultralight but the deciding factor for me was the limited magazine capacity. In my state we can load five for non-migratory game. Since I usually give the quail a "warning shot" (a miss), I felt like I wanted five shots in the field. Since you are hunting migratory birds, this may not be an issue for you. My Montefeltro only weighs 5 1/2 lbs. so it's almost as light as the Ultralight. Holds five shots without the plug. And the plug is a breeze to take out... you just take of the forend cap and tilt it forward and the falls out. We DO have to plug for dove and I was checked out this last season by a game warden. Guy was very thorough and did everything except a prostate exam. Even went 200 yds. out of the way to check my pickup for hidden doves. Asked me a trick question as well... "How many did you get this morning?"... (we were hunting in the afternoon!) We follow the laws down here and it pays off.
  20. Good grief! I've never seen a pattern that absolutely good! Wow. Wish i had a gun that would do that... (got holes in my patterns).
  21. Neat! How did you find this stuff? I just thought the guys on the forum would enjoy it, but your post put a whole different slant on the veracity of it all. Thanks.
  22. Highly decorated General Cosgrove was interviewed on the radio recently. This is a transcription of an ABC interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military headquarters: Female interviewer: So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base? General: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting. Lady: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it? General: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range. Lady: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children? General: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm. Lady: But you're equipping them to become violent killers. General: Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you? ...the radio went momentarily silent and the interview ended.
  23. Fine. Thanks. And you'll never find me calling someone a shmuck or insinuating that they are gay just because they disagree with me. Yes, let's keep it civil.
  24. Be careful out there. Gonna' put you on my prayer list asking for your safety. I'm not some kind of religious freak but DO know which end is up. Take care.
