  1. Rick, Thanks for tracking it down. Looks like this board picked up the overflow of a discussion between fans of opposing makes.
  2. Merely referring to an ambiguous reference to an ambiguous post about an ambiguous problem. So far, this entire thread has told me nothing of any value. I too looked on the SGW site and could find no post about hundereds, or even dozens, of problematic novas. If I'm going to chase geese, I'd rather set out some decoys and be in a blind somewhere.
  3. Sorry to hear of your problems. I just bought a new SBE2 and haven't put anywhere near that many rounds through it yet, but I hope mine deosn't start doing that. It would be hard to get over having my new shotgun chucking perfectly good shells into the drink. I'm sure Benelli will correct the problem, but it sux that you have to suffer through the balance of the season with it the way it is. Hopefully, someone here can identify the problem and tip you off as to what you could do to remedy the problem yourself. If worse comes to worse, and you do have to send it in, please post back to this thread once the problem is identified and resolved. May be of little comfort right now, but a follow up could possibly help someone with a similar problem in the future. Best of Luck

    SBE2 Porting

Just curious as to whether anyone here has their SBE2 ported, and if so, by whom and how did they like the results?
  5. The 7mm magnum and 300 magnum are popular choices for elk.
  6. Yesterday was my first day in the blind with my new SBE2. The day started out a bit slow, with just a few ringnecks passing over the decoys. No shooters. About 30 minutes after sunrise, I spotted a gang of about 15 canada geese heading right for us. My partner and I had no chance to prepare for them by switching to heavier shot, so we went with what we had. We each got doubles! My SBE2 was at last getting a chance to show me what she could do! The recoil of the 3.5" steel 3's was not even noticed as the geese folded and crashed into the surrounding cattails. In all honesty, I should have had a triple, but my partner and I had picked out the same bird as our first shot and he fired first, throwing my timing off just a bit. We picked up a few ringnecks there before we loaded up and began to patrol the creeks and backwaters for jump shots. As we entered the first back cove, a lone canada got up and came straight out over us, and the eagle took another victim! We stopped for lunch in a big creek where we had jumped about 50 mallards and a handful of teal. After lunch, we figured we'd given them long enough to return, but they were not going to do so, so we began to make our way out. As we passed a pothole concealed by a narrow band of cattails, two greenheads blasted up and away out about 30 yards out. There were no survivors Getting back to the landing and meeting up with our parters in another boat, we discovered that they had a good shoot as well. The two boat total was 5 geese, 4 greenheads, 1 hen mallard, 3 green-wing teal, and 7 ringnecks. This was by far one of the best days we've had here this season and renews hope that the next cold front will only improve things even more! The black SBE2 looked like **** when she came out of the boat. There was dirt, water, mud, and blood scattered from one end to the other, but a few minutes of TLC once I returned home brought her right back to factory condition.
  7. Thanks for taking the time and making the effort! /cut/paste/save

    Increasing LOP?

Knowing what model weapon you are trying to lengthen may be of some help. Many Benellis come with shims to be placed between the stock and receiver to accomplish this.
  10. All left hand models are listed here http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/lefthand.tpl
  11. Looks like he's talking about Hoppes Elite. http://www.hoppes.com
  12. No problem. If you start here http://www.benelli-armi.com/Home.asp?Lan=EN and click on customer service, it's a bit easier to follow
  13. That's great information, GB. Thanks! I'm going to hold out for the stock model. Please post to this forum when it's ready.
  14. SCB04, Get a manual here. http://www.benelli-armi.com/ServizioClienti/
  15. Is there a mercury recoil reducer available for the SBE2?
  16. Barring any evidence of abuse, both issues should be covered by warranty. You should contact customer service directly. I had a cracked stock on my R1 and they are waiting for my deer season to end before I send it in for replacement. CS has been great to work with on my problems, and I'm sure they'll accomodate you as well.
  17. I was afield with my new SBE2 on Saturday. One of the guys was telling me (and showing me) how the weapon could be modified to hold four rounds with the plug in place. He dissasembled the shotgun and pointed to a small groove on the bottom of the bolt carriage. He said that if this groove is filled with a hard material like JB Weld, it will allow the shotgun to hold the second shot in the feed elevator position directly beneath the bolt. That adds one to the total. I'm not seriously thinking of doing this, but it did arouse my curiosity.
  18. Call customer service and ask them.
  19. Ace - I think you may have just saved me some grief. Just this eveing I ordered a Pattern Master tube from Cabelas for my new SBEII. If I'm understanding you correctly, the tube Cabelas lists for Benelli will not fit the SBEII. Is this correct?
  20. I looked at Berettas and Benellis side by side just a few days ago, and the Beretta is a nice product, but I liked the feel of the Benelli. Thanks for the advice though. Oh, and as for the NRA, I don't consider them to be acting in my best interest sometimes, so I just write my local, state, and federal representatives when I need to express my views on firearms and hunting issues. Best Wishes & Happy Hunting
  21. Thanks for the info. I'll do the deed this evening.

    Rail for M1

    Maybe something here? http://www.calssportingarmory.com/BenelliAccessories.htm
  23. It was Gander Mountain in Fredericksburg, VA. It came in at $1289. I just got her home. 4.5 hours round trip, but it was worth it, especially after reading the backorder horror stories I've seen. If I lived in the country, I'd be out back putting rounds through her at 11:50 PM. All my life I've shot the right handed man's gun. Finally, someone offered the gun I wanted in a lefty. It's Christmas at my house! Any recommended tweaks before I light this cannon? [ 12-08-2004, 11:58 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
  24. A costly endeavor, but I suspect you're going to have to buy a standard barrel and have it customized.
