  1. I am in agreement with both of you to some degree. Every man for himself, and if it flies it dies. Good luck and good shooting gentlemen.
  2. I speculate our southern zone season will another 3 weeks before freeze up or all the birds have made their way through. Myself and friend killed about 40 ducks and 4 geese in the last 4 days, just lots of big fat targets out there and some days they are even kind of dumb.
  3. Just go back from a 4 day duck hunt with my boy, and did we have fun. In total around 40 ducks killed along with a few geese. Nice work for him. Bye the way, that was 2 guys hunting
  4. "Its the Indian not the arrow" Couldnt be better said. I shot 20+ pheasants last season along and never once did my #5 shot 20 ga hand loaded shells let me down. Center the bird with your shot pattern and it will be yours. Rarely will you ever find a well placed shot end with a lost bird. Dont buy into the hype.
  5. Get ready for the migrating birds to come down south. In Wisconsin we saw a lot of birds come through the last 4 days, it looks like the cold weather up north is starting to push them down. We had a great weekend hunting; nice mallards shot with a mixed bag of, teal, widgeon, divers, and a few geese.
  6. We were shooting teal over the decoys at 20 yards this weekend, they come rocketing in with just a touch and go followed by bang bang bang. What a blast!
  7. lucky guy. Our local DU baquet only gave out Stoeger P350's for the door prize and the raffle was an M2000, good to sell but not to keep.
  8. This weekend we can hunt pheasants after ducks, a muli species weekend - more fun.
  9. Should have bought a Remington, you can find those barrels everywhere.
  10. No problems here either. Only trouble I had was when I still owned my Stoeger M2000, but that gun didnt like anything.
  11. Tucker, its amazing how much color your birds are showing in your part of the country. Up here most the early birds look pretty drab compared to the ones you shot. Our wood duck are just starting to show color, and the teal are basically brown with a few splotches of blue or green. Nice work.

    SBE2 & Nasty Kick

I added a limbsaver to my 7mm mag and it was a nice surprise when I first shot it this last weekend, it kind of turned the sharp kick into a soft push. I shot 20 rounds off sandbag while wearing a tee shirt without a single flinch.
  13. He is back in action since the duck and goose opener here, plenty of retrieves and lots of fun. He looks good.
  14. ditto on timb99's comments.

    Question??

    bolt close for me too.
  16. I know a guy who was in the Marine Corp presidential guard during the Clinton administration. He said there were not too many guys willing to risk their lives over hers, he claims she use to just hate the secret police and military guard.

  18. Not even close to Federals Barnes expanders at $18.00 for a box of 5.
  19. Right on the mark reneckhunter, #2's are our bread and butter for most of the season. This weekend is our opener up North where most of the birds are Wood ducks, so can get by with 4's but 2's and BB or even BBB on geese work real well. Unless your ground swatting in the decoys, using lead shot, or heavy non tox I cant see 7 1/2 shot being all too effective for anything other than clay birds.
  20. Irish Setters, I wear them right up until everything freezes. Gortex and 400 of Thinsulate is perfect for me. 4 years old, lots of miles, and no leaks.
  21. Looks like my little go Pack found its mark, cool.... Good luck this fall guys. Vikequeens, Haaaaa!

I am not into the whole tactical weapons scene, but from an outside perspective what do you think your chances are of actually getting caught and procescuted with an out of compliance weapon really are? Really? I know a guy who does a lot of semi and full auto competitions throughout the country and from what I hear there are tons of so called illegal contraban floating around. Not that its right or wrong but in reality what are the odds, and who is going to know you have it.
  23. Alright now this is more like it! sling shot and frozen peas.
