  1. Have you checked your post on SGW.com lately?? I replied with the info you requested and a link on 10/28/06. Sometimes one must wonder why bother to take the time? Heres that link for you to refresh your memory. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=89290 And the Link to the Benelli USA Manual. Scroll down to page 31 thru 37. It illustrates the telescopic stock but they all mount the same way. http://www.benelliusa.com/customer-service/pdfs/M4Super90.pdf Hope this helps. Again. Provided you bother to check your post on this board also? Or did you just want to complain about Benelli's CS? UNBELIEVABLE. [ 11-02-2006, 12:01 PM: Message edited by: Full Bore ]
  2. I just noticed in your original post you said SBE. If you have a SBE I is it a flat rib or step ribbed one? Either way the differences in receivers, radius and the 3/8" will make the Monte feel shorter as you'll basically have to choke up on the stock to get down on the flat rib with the shorter receiver. Does that make any sense to you or clear as mud?
  3. Ol'Roy I believe the Monte feels so much different to you than a SBE II is because it is. The Monte has a flat rib and you are used to the step rib of the SBE II. The Monte also has a shorter receiver and a longer forend than the SBE II. I believe it also has a slightly different radius in the pistol grip area. 3/8" can make a big difference. Many trap shooters change this dimension by 1/8" increments to get a gun to fit them. Some of them also seem to think they can buy talent. Have you looked into an M2? They are closer feeling to the SBE II. Hope this helps give you a little more insight.
  4. They are? Where can you get one? Or did you mean "IF" they are available? I don't believe so. Since the Legacy and Montefeltro are really upland guns I doubt there ever will be. You can shoot slugs designed for smoothbores through it. Federal TruBalls are supposed a good accurate slug round for cyl bores or Remington Buckhammers. I would add a rib type clamp on sight available from Brownells. If you must have a rifled barrel you'll have to go with a Nova, SuperNova, M2 or SBE II. If you don't mind a pump you can probably buy a Nova slug gun for not all that much more than the cost of a slug barrel for the M2, SBE II or a Legacy barrel if one existed anyway.
  5. I believe it will only fit the SBE II without any modifications. I believe one must grind around the trigger guard to make it fit a SBE and possibly the M1 although I'm not for sure on the M1. It will not fit the M4. Totally different set up.
  6. SBE II. No question. It is by far the most versatile, durable, easiest gun to clean and I believe one of the lightest 12ga. autos to carry. Second choice M2. For all the above reasons. It is almost the same except for receiver design and is not chambered for 3.5 inchers. Will cycle lighter loads better but my SBE II will eat up 1 1/8 oz loads all day and I don't shoot anything lighter. 26" barrels are probably your best choice. I shoot 28" but that is because of the Trap shooter in me and my own personal preference as I tend to overswing with shorter barrels. You can't go wrong. They are both exellent guns.
  7. Rifled slug barrels are designed for sabot slugs. There are many different manufacturers of sabot slugs available and I would suggest you try quite a few different kinds untill you find the one your gun shoots the best. For example Win 2 3/4 1oz 50cal sabot slugs may shoot great in one SBEII and horrible in another. Like any rifle you have to find the load it shoots most accurately. Great choice on your new Benelli's and welcome to the forum. [ 10-25-2006, 06:43 AM: Message edited by: Full Bore ]
  8. As Tucker already said Primos is the way to go. You can buy the Primos tubes individually. Here is the primos link. http://www.primos.com/game_calls.php?cPath=28_95_114&sid=e1cfc7ed52350cc6bc2950dda4821b87 They are excellent tubes for the money. You are better off to buy the set which is priced about the same as buying a single tube from all the other choke tube makers, but if you only want the Decoy or Pass tube you can buy them alone from Primos. Briley tubes are very good also although I don't believe they make one that slows the wad however I could be wrong. I haven't checked them lately. Alot of people seem to like the Terror tube from SRM also but they are a bit more pricey. Heres that link. http://surecycle.com/default.asp

    M4 Schematic

Have you tried here? Benelli's Italian site. Scroll down to M4 Super 90 and download it. Its also the same one that should have come with your gun if you bought it new. http://www.benelli.it/Articoli/Download.asp?Type=SPL I don't know of any manufacturer that will provide dimensions. 10. If money is no issue I'd definately go with the M4. You may have many more options for accys now and in the future. Lighter recoil= less pain when playing. The M4 is heavier than the M2. If it is go, with the M2. Still have many assys available. Either way as you know, you can't go wrong with a Benelli. Mag extensions are available for both or a full length tube for the M4 for the ultimate tactical cool factor. I started with an M2 Tactical but returned it (new unfired)the very next day when my dealer had an M4 arrive. WARNING: Tricking out an M4 or an M2 can be Lethal on your wallet. 11. Very good. I guessed you would be able to figure out one way to do it and save alot of typing which I really don't have that kind of time for. Glad you were able to get it done on your own.
  12. Sorry. I simply don't have that much time to try and explain how to set an open ended straight walled hollow rivet along with how to make the needed tools on top of it. Suggestion. If you have experience with larger rivets, try applying the same knowledge with smaller ones. Turn a small standard type solid rivet on a lathe and you will only have to mushroom one end over. You will be the only one that knows its not factory, and I believe the newer M2 and M4 are now solid rivets anyway. If this doesn't help you, as I said before. Take it to a gunsmith.
  13. I highly recommend you take it to a competant gunsmith if you have one near you. If you are not that familiar with rivets its fairly hard to explain how to do it properly without causing more damage and a gunsmith will have the proper tools and the experience to do it properly. 14. Once again Tucker. Well Done! Very nice work! You are the Master.
  15. My M4 also only came with only the mod tube in the barrel. I went the other way instead of calling CS and simply contacted CS by email. Two or three days later they replied requesting my S# which I should have given them originally and which tube I had and about 5 days later received the other two tubes by UPS. I've had no problems with CS and can't complain other than being shorted the tubes to begin with, but at least I had the mod tube and could shoot it. I feel your pain Nemesis. Mildot, try the email route and let us know. Hopefully you'll have the same luck I did.
  16. Very well said Tucker! Perhaps Benelli should consider hiring you to write their somewhat confusing owners manuals. I wish all manufacturers would speak in these terms instead of technical terms. They would certainly save themselves a lot of confused owners calling their customer service lines. I imagine the lawyers are partly responsible for that also. Or they are losing something in the translation. Nicely done!

  18. I have no experience with the SOCOM but I do with the SA M1A NM and they are awesome. I sold mine a few years back in a too good to be true deal but it was. I wish I would have kept it now. I miss it. As soon as I get a few more of the nellies I want that will be back on the top of the list. By all means post some pics.
  19. As my father always taught me. A fool and his money are soon parted. Guess there's a lot of fools.
  20. The 2005 catalog lists a Nova Pump Tactical 18.5" cyl bore w/open rifle sights #20050 and pictures it as such. Rear sight on the barrel. That number is still listed in the 2006 caralog also. "However.. i did see a barrel like im describing on a nova semi.... but not a pump." All Novas are pumps. [ 09-20-2006, 01:44 PM: Message edited by: Full Bore ]
  21. The original plug is nothing more than a rod shaped like a long nail which will go through the hole in the end of the forend retaining screw. You can make your own with a piece of soft steel rod and peen the end over or have one made by a machinist. The original was made from alum. You don't need to take the mag apart. You can find a schematic at www.gunpartscorp.com Hope this helps you. [ 09-20-2006, 12:49 PM: Message edited by: Full Bore ]
  22. I doubt it. The receiver and trigger housings are different. Just like the barrels. But here's an idea. Since you have both why not try it? [ 09-20-2006, 01:25 PM: Message edited by: Full Bore ]

  24. Duggan Apparantly Hades wouldn't mind toting that bad boy around for you. I think a few game wardens would frown on that accessory. At least here in Ohio. I have the only hunting gun I"ll ever need. SBEII. If you can't get them with 3 you may want to find another sport. Hmm. I wonder if Tom Knapp has ever tried 24??
