  1. I usually end up using Hoppe's #9 with a Tornado brush.I run a patch of #9 down the bbl,and let it sit a few min.,then run the brush down the bbl,and let it sit out the end while I blast the brush with a blowgun attached to an air compressor. That removes the black plastic "sludge" and doesen't place it back inside when I withdraw the brush. Of all the solvents I have in my shop, the old-school #9 gets the job done FAST.Plus, that stuff just smells great!
  2. A lot of this is geared toward those people who wil also pay a "gunsmith" to mount and a scope for them,I imagine. Patterning is my favorite tradition in preperation for Spring.I agree, why pay someone else to have my fun! Just for kicks, you should check out Nitro shotshell's website at the price they are charging to pattern guns:eek:
  3. Have you guys seen the pics of the SBE3 yet?.....just kidding! Welcome Brother.
  4. Yes,I went back and read your post. You did say Nova.I was thinking of a Supernova,so the part #given should fit, indeed!sorry.
  5. Being in the right place at the right time is priceless!
  6. Go to the Limbsaver site and put your curser on the products section on the top left side,a pop down list of items comes down that includes the word "firearms" when you move to that word another list comes down that says "firearms cross refference chart"click on that and alist will come up that has the Benelli tactical pad listed.
  7. Search back through the last couple of weeks posts in the Turkey Hunting thread. This question has been covered many times.
  8. Here is an interesting site to help answer some of the FAQ's in here on patterning loads. These guys have an approach that takes human error out of the equation.Above all else, these guys are cool.Check them out! www.GobblerGuns.com
  9. I just wish spare barrels were more affordable,so people could buy one and ream it out just to go experiment at the range.I am always exciteded about a trip to the patterning board with extra "unknowns" to chew on!
  10. Just checking.Wanted to see how close to the Rhino "Grindhouse" you are.
  11. Please keep us posted on your results with your TruGlo tube!
  12. Dawggone,How far away from Central Fl are you?
  13. Sometimes we get carried away trying to help each other!lol but we all have the same goal,to help people enjoy the Benelli family lifestyle.
  14. Hey gang, good news! This past week the Pa. Game Commission lifted the rule on hunters having to wear blaze orange while moving between calling locations during Spring Turkey season. Hunters still may not "stalk" turkeys, and must only call from "stationary calling positions". Does anyone else see the grey area here?
  15. These guns do seem to be shipped from the factory with anti turkey hunting demons packed in the box with the gun.You have to have a passion for shooting at paper if you are want to mash birds with maximum confidence with these guns. When you get it right,it is the most rewarding thing, but getting it wrong and trying new things is what you find yourself doing the most.
  16. I think you're on to something! A hop up kit, with replacement Chevrons and interchangable grip plates! They could call it "The Pimp Kit". Imagine all the combinations and custom looks out there.I'd go with red accents and a Ferrari logo(Prancing Horse) on each side! Make sure you get a cut of the profit Tucker.
  17. Perhaps they are getting ready for some new models to arrive...
  18. Usually I would suggest shooting a "hevier than lead" type of load out of a FF choke, but since money is an issue,I would agree on trying some larger shot in 3.5in. Give the #4 and#5 Remington Nitro's a chance. They can be had for less than $10 a box at "The Mart" and have been holding their own at the 30yd mark, which is plenty far away for most people.
  19. This is an awesome chance to "Floss your kit"! Doesn't matter if it's fresh out of the box or has been used by your grandpa as a boat oar, show us your fave!
  20. I will check this out!Was this in an ad paper or in-store only?
  21. Remington's lawyers might be trying to play it safe and not encourage any "issues" by untrained users. I would love to see those edges on a turkey choke, though. It would look so trick.Especially if they shaped each jag like a little spur!lol
  22. Scenario: You have to hoof it to the corner of a field and set up quickly on some gobblers heading that way,and only have time to grab your gun a couple shells, and one call.Which call would it be?(first one that comes to mind!)
