Gotta love the idiot proof simplicity of the 121M1 bolt assembly.

Exactly what does 'high fire rate' really mean?? And how is that different from never cleaning the self-cleaning pistons?? Never heard of any such failure, however from what I gather Stranger Danger has put over 10k rounds through his M4. If anyone has has 'high rate' experience it'd be SD. ETA: FWIW I did googled 'SRM Arms gas system by-pass (and bypass) Benelli M4' and the only result relative to the Benelli M4 is the gunjoker listing in the OP.

That was my concern with the Pro Mag c stock, i.e. the (crucial) retaining pin would be substandard material and would fail, and sure enough that's what you experienced.

I'm also in the 'keep the M2' camp.

Mine's semi-permanently attached so it's not going anywhere.

Apparently the conventional approach is of little concern to them. Interesting looking shotgun.

Those hammers are in and out of stock. Save all of $6 by ordering from Midway (no shipping charge at Geissle). The manufacturer setting a high price while other vendors offer the very same item for less is standard fare, e.g. Krebs Custom AK selector is $60 at Krebs and $45 at Midway and elsewhere.

It's just as it should be outta the box, 'cept for needing a FL mag tube. Neutering it with a five round mag is an abomination and strictly a feel good measure since we have a number of ways of working around that now, 'legally'. Like the hotrodders say, "There's no replacement for displacement." (all things being equal) Those two extra rounds could make all the difference in seeing the sun come up again - FTW!

Yeah, if you're gonna be out in very cold temperatures for an extended period of time protecting your hands and keeping your fingers able to function becomes one of your highest priorities. Good point on the operational type mittens, I think I've seen those in the US Cavalry catalog, or somewhere like that.

I've been in a storm where running very low on ammo became a problem that required immediate action and that resulted in a tactical disadvantage I had to adapt to. Therefore in the future I plan on carrying as much ammo on me as practical. Two bandoleers seems about right, however I'm very much in my happy zone with four. lol If you know of any 'tactical shotgun vest'* which will comfortably accommodate at least 3-4 dozen rounds of shotgun ammo I'm all ears. *It takes precious moments to suit up in a vest should the need arise when one can simply grab a bandoleer or three on the fly

I've got a couple of those AIM bandoleers. I'm not at all impressed with 'em. The Urban E.R.T. bandoleers are pricey but worth it imo. Always check the elastic and never a good idea to subject that elastic to excessive heat (like in a car in the summertime) - loaded or unloaded (the elastic that is). If you just have to expose the elastic to anything above room temperatures very much expect to replace any such bandoleer periodically as the elastic WILL become stretched out and not recover (from my own experience).

Good point. No, it's not always warm here, been below freezing for hours/days at a time recently. What sort of gloves do you use in cold weather? (I've been wanting some Oakley tactical gloves, just haven't sprung for 'em yet, lately been using some el cheapo polyurethane coated mechanic type gloves) Under such circumstances I would suggest adaptation, which can mean whatever you can come up with. Easy enough to make the distinction between slugs vs. shot loads however if you have a variety of shot loads then it would seem one would need to have some sort of aid to help make the distinction or else make it all one single type of buckshot along with the slugs. I'm thinking something inserted between the elastic and the shotshell, e.g. matchsticks, tabs of fabric, small plastic tubing, attach small safety pins (or whatever suits ya) could help one ID the rounds. Also the positioning on the bandoleer comes into play, possibly separating various shot rounds with slugs in between.

Not so much inflation as supply and demand. Price has gone accordingly with supply vs. demand - 2-3 years ago one supplier somehow got 'several' of the verboten OEM c-stocks and had them listed for $225 on their website. Those very quickly sold out of course however in the meantime the going rate also came down to ~$300. Prior to that 4-5 years ago the OEM c-stocks were routinely selling for north of $800 on gunjoker. The prices for the c-stocks have slowly come back up to the $500+ range since the 'bargain' price of $225.

carriercomp lead times on tubes, anyone get theirs?
Sukhoi_fan replied to Jdkarmy's topic in Benelli
I got a Ti tube from Kip but didn't have to wait an incredibly long time to get, only a moderately long time (like -
Apparently the SLP is now being shipped with only one 'improved' piston, reliability with light loads sucks with that one from what I gather.

Is there something different about this M4 tube?
Sukhoi_fan replied to Vertigofirearms's topic in Benelli
The thing is, without that retaining pin the c-stock will NOT work, it will fully collapse on every shot. -

10 months!?!?!? That essentially means 'unavailable' - indefinitely. -
One FN SLP owner's nightmare episode (it appears FN is only furnishing ONE 'improved' piston now) - http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=181004

Besides what's already been posted, the SLP comes with two gas pistons (one for lighter power loads and one for higher power loads) which you need to change according to the loads you're shooting - pretty inconvenient and possibly downright disappointing when in a bind.
