  1. I heard he licks the rim of your soda when you're not looking. 8 months later, you're gay(er).
  2. Removing/reinstalling the magazine spring plug.
  3. Contact Kip about a replacement washer. I've never seen them for sale. Only a part of the rail assembly. Which is expensive. If that's a nogo, cry to Benelli. Mesa Tactical offers a QD sling mount that replaces the roll pin above the pistol grip. I is s*** quality though. The opposite side has a huge acorn nut on it that hits your trigger finger. I'm devising an alternative. I'm thinking we should buy the magpul QD socket for the UBR. The cup itself is threaded. Then get a proper thread and length bolt. Pass the bolt from the right side through the grip into the QD socket. Add a thin washer beneath the bolt on the right side. Thoughts?
  4. It handles nice. If I was to buy a pump gun, it would be at the top of the list. I thought you couldn't even have a love gun in the UK?
  5. You need snapring pliers to remove the spring retainer. It will also reinstall with the pliers. It should function fine with the existing spring. Carriercomp has a stronger one from Wolff. I'd recommend the upgrade.
  6. I'd rather hear end user experience than propaganda. It felt like the shape was being taken from the inner core, not the rubber overmold. If so, maybe belt sand the corners? The overmold is glued in place?
  7. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Detail.aspx?pid=983200&catid=10315 Stripped unit Does the C Stock fit on and adjust on the standard M4 recoil tube (my recoil tube has three notches on its top and side). It sounds as if your recoil tube assembly is the proper unit. Can you add a Limbsaver to the C stock can Limbsaver custom fit one for you? I'm sure a gunsmith could do this. You might even be able to do it yourself. Is the cheek riser on the C stock adjustable up and down for optic height? The only direct adjustment is the position of the stock. Example, in the middle position, the cheek riser is higher than fully extended.
  8. No Urbino yet? Everyone keeping their dog indoors or something?
  9. The sling mount is on the barrel hanger, not the mag tube. Go to carriercomp.com and look in his gallery. He has photos there.
  10. Kip's at SHOT this week. What he said before is he Is sending them to the coater after SHOT. He has been waiting for a safety sign off for his hammer and disconnector. He wanted to send all batches at once to be coated to reduce the expense.
  11. I handled one of these the other day. Honestly, I'm surprised there aren't more complaints about the pistol grip. The grip itself feels very boxy in the back. I'd like to hear from people who have shot the weapon extensively with the stock equipped. It's not absolutely terrible by any means, but it certainly is no Benelli. The molding, and tightness of the product looks and feels good. Seams are seamless for the most part.
  12. Replace as many as reasonably possible. You never know when you will get an a-hole, a rookie or an outright moron. Many threegunners were denied the right to use their M4 because of the evil tube extensions. Their RO said it wasn't legal. Therefor, they didnt get to play. So when this special group in our society are encountered, it is best to have your bases covered. Parts that say US made are better than ones that do not. The reason being is the onlooker in a position of power is a moron and probably couldn't tell a factory follower from a Brownells one. Consider that the BATFE is lax on 922, right now. Will they always be? Will new laws be penned? Will grandfather clauses exist for preexisting compliant weapons? carriercomp has shown their products to be superior to Benelli's factory parts. It's not a step backwards in quality like with many manufacturers making products for the M4. I forsee Kip making a package deal for compliance in the very near future. Mag tube, mag follower, hammer and disconnector. Probably for 250 - 275$.
  13. Good info to hear. I didn't even know the BATFE had a booth. A magazine tube extension does not count towards US made part compliance. You need a full replacement tube. In the past, I've heard that 3 parts were needed to be replaced when using a fixed pistol grip stock. 4 parts for the collapsible stock. 1. Full length magazine tube 2. Magazine follower 3. Carriercomp's hammer 4. Carriercomp's disconnector 5. Forearm Assembly FFT's reproduction units will be the way to go for most. Some of the other railed forends will meet compliance too.
  14. Played with the super vinci yesterday. Seems nice. The action is a monster. I like the vinci's safety better than the behind the trigger arrangement.
  15. Start jumping. http://www.shop.carriercomp.com/product.sc?productId=2&categoryId=4
  16. I thought about using the 870 as a hint. I've tried the T1 in many different positions. So far I've found the FOV is obstructed around the target area more with it pushed forward. It is also much more sensitive to your cheek weld. Further back allows a wide FOV through the optics tube. The optics housing is minimal, so it obstructs very little. I'll keep trying different arrangements though in the field. Right now I'm leaning towards leaving the Scout as is. I hate tape switches. The install process on the collapsible stock for a grip mod would be complicated. There isn't anywhere to store excess cabling. I like the momentary control on the Scout as well as the locked on option. My hope is to find a way to attach the light in it's current position or slightly further forward without the need of the rail system. Ditch it for 9 ounces of weight savings. Use of the FFT hand guards is mandatory. Then I'd go to Kip's top rail. This years goal is to go class 3 with it and find a 14" barrel too. Then nab a titanium shorty tube from Kip. All his new internal parts as well, hammer and disconnector. I'm in Vegas now. Really looking forward to going to the show in the morning!
  17. The handguards won't hold a zero. However, I would love for them to make one that had a provision for a small picatinny rail along the side up out of the way of where you place your hand. That way you could add a weapon light with almost no weight penalty.
  18. Might be rough to shoot fully collapsed. If that's the case, a gunsmith could probably pin it to your existing recoil tube. I'd pin it in the middle position. What'd really do is escape from California.
  19. Yep. Comply like the m1014 stock does. It's considered a skeletonized stock and would require no modifications to the stock itself. However, you would need to install a m1014 or 11703 recoil tube which won't allow the stock to collapse. Replacing this tube yourself can be a pain. I just did mine last week to go the opposite route you want to go. I'd sell you my old one, or trade you for the one off your shotgun. Several threads down I have a howto post concerning the extension and how to get it off.
  20. I can't get the shotgun into my shoulder pocket when I have the sling over my shoulder. So connecting the sling above the pistol grip allows me to move the stock around better. It also carries the shotgun higher. It'll also carry the same no matter what position the stock is in. I like hard to press QD sling mounts like on the VCAS. It makes disassembly for cleaning a breeze. They hold tighter to the mounts than the conventional strap design. There are fewer buckles and connectors than most slings. The adjustment strap allows you to cinch it to your body when hiking, then quickly release it when you need to shoot. I use the same sling on my MRP. I believe the factory mounts were designed with a 2 point on the bottom in mind.
  21. Thanks all. The rail covers are LaRue index clips. I have some black ones somewhere. I wish I could get an old Sidarmor rail that is essentially a barrel clamp that puts the light in the same location. Then I could drop the full rail and go with Kip's. The goal would be weight savings. I'd probably save 5 ounces. I might get a GearSector sling mount for the front. They're a little lower profile than the Daniel Defense ones. It pulls the sling in closer too. Now, I need a 14" entry barrel. Not even close on the round count. No humidity in my part of Arizona. So solid 5 round sleeves. Hint: there are 3 layers of vertical sleeves and one layer of hoizontal ones on the top. Tweakers can't steal it either, it weighs too much for them to deadlift.
  22. Everything seems good to go with the replacement recoil extension. Still waiting on my rear sling mount.
