  1. What type of loads were you running? If it was low brass field loads I wouldn’t be surprised you had problems. While I personally did not have that issue while breaking in the gun, many folks on here did. I’d recommend taking the gun down for a good cleaning and lubrication then heading back to the range to run 50-75 high brass loads though it. Doing that should allow you to shoot any load other than the stubby shells.
  2. +2 for the Sig Talk forum. Good group of people over there and they're always willing to help. I haven't been over there in a bit since I got my M4 and kinda forgot about my Sigs, but when I needed info or advice, they always stepped up.
  3. Yup, completely normal. Just apply some lube to it when cleaning then you'll be fine. As for the low recoil stuff, you need to break the gun in with full power loads first. The M4 is designed to eat all kinds of rounds except for the stubby shells, so just put about 75-100 high brass loads through it then you'll be all set for the low power 2 3/4 shells.
  4. It sounds cliché, but the old saying of "buy once, cry once" def applies to the M4. It is a world-class combat shotgun that has very few rivals. Yeah the price tag is high, but once you own one and start using it, the value is immediately apparent. For me personally, an M4 was at the tippy top of my gun bucket list, save for a transferrable MP5. I've had my M4 since mid-April and to this day I still can't believe that I finally own one. Just last night I was holding it and was giddy with excitement that I actually have one. Not only that, but it's modded the way I always dreamed of. I couldn't possibly be happier with my purchase.
  5. Polymer fame by itself is fine but you can run into trouble when upgrading the trigger components. I installed the FFT trigger group into my polymer frame and found it was not precise enough to match what FFT made. I sent the whole thing off to StrangerDanger and he put all of my components into an A&S frame and it's been perfect ever since. It sucks to have to spend an additional $220 on a trigger housing but once you start using the gun you'll be glad you did.
  6. I came here to post what RPC said. Dinging up something new that you love sucks. On the other hand, the first scratch/ding is the hardest and now you don't have the pressure of keeping it pristinte. Going even further, I learned to appreciate the character that some imperfections can add to an item, so now I'm almost relieved when I initially damage something (assuming the damage isn't' too bad. If it is, I just get pissed off haha)
  7. Damn, I can't believe I missed this.
  8. It occurred to me that I have yet to post a photo of my M4 since completion.
  9. @StrangerDanger or @Vertigofirearms would be the best bet here.
  10. I'm running the 65 shim too. Already tried this out on the pigeons at my moms farm and it worked well.
  11. They are designed to be held differently. Instead of putting the bead on the target, it's intended to be just BELOW. Not sure why this is, but once I switched to that any problems I had shooting higher went away.
  12. I put a Briley ch on both my SBE 3 and the M4 and I couldn't be happier. I wish it had some knurling but otherwise it's a great fit. Easy to get in and out but it holds tight and does not cause any damage to the receiver.
  13. Well I went to Bass Pro and picked up that tiny Wheeler kit and after just one use it was obvious how shitty it is. Secretly hoped I could get away without spending QUITE as much as that PB Swiss set, but it looks to be unavoidable. Although any day getting new tools isn't a bad day.
  14. Thank you for all of the feedback! I will start looking into these now. As for punches I have two sets of Starrett, one steel and the other brass so I think I'm set on those. I wish I had known about that extra long punch sooner as that project was a pain in the ass without having a proper vice to hold the gun.
  15. Hey all, do any of you have a gun-focused screwdriver set you'd recommend? I'm looking to buy a set I'll have for life, so price is not an issue. Thanks!
  16. Hmm... I'm surprised to hear that. I thought all M4s came with a choked barrel. Either way, congrats on your impeccable timing. That makes owning this gun all the more sweet since there is an awesome story to go with it!
  17. Bringing this thread back because I'm interested in a set of night sights. I figured the Benelli sights were rebranded and since they aren't that great overall, I'm going in a different direction. LPA, XS, Trijicon, HiVIZ, is there anyone else I should be looking at?
  18. Just post a photo then we'll be able to tell you right away.
  19. That's ridiculous. Any chance you had taken photos of the gun before sending it in?
  20. It just occurred to me that I haven't posted a single photo of my M4 since I finished it last month. I'll find a good background then snap some pics.
  21. Oh okay. It's not that the oem one is uncomfortable, but I'm looking for something a little bit speaker. Kinda like the grips that come on Sig AR rifles, ya know?
  22. Hmm.. didn't see a grip available on there.
  23. Super easy though. Did it to mine with just a GG&G pad and bolt.
