  1. Uh, the coating issues aren't b.s. The coating is crap compared to my two other M4s (11707, 11717). The coating made the shell stop lever freeze on mine. The coating has worn off the bottom of the bolt already. The gun hasn't been shot yet The coating on the recoil spring tube is worn off where the collapsible stock rides. If you crunch the numbers, the H20's price isn't too bad when you consider you get the cs stock, full tube and 922r joy . . . If you pay retail which is about $2099.
  2. Yes, enjoy your black M4! I'm looking at a few .308s. A Krebs .308 Socom, XCR-M, Sig 716. But I am very fickle. I might just man it up and put a few hundred rounds through it next weekend.
  3. No. Haven't fired it yet.
  4. Hi guys, Below is a link to an image shack album of some pics of my new M4 H20. To be honest I am not impressed with the finish. It seems very, very thin and weak. You can see an area on the barrel where it meets the mag tube lug where the finish is missing (no, that isn't washout from the flash). There are also several scratches on the barrel that seem to have been coated over (poor metal prep prior to applying the finish?). The internals just appear to be coated with the finish. In fact, the shell drop lever was inoperable until I worked it up and down a bit. Also, there is no oil on the gun, just some sort of dry (graphite?) lube. MY OPINION: Not worth it unless you are a collector or want it for the factory "legal" magazine tube and collapsible stock. http://imageshack.us/g/692/m4h2otrigger2z.jpg/ Not sure about mine. I might end up selling it soon to fund a .308 as I already have a few M4s . . . I just saw this one and thought I could give it a good home. Edit: sorry if it is a wall of text. When I typed into post box it looked nicely formatted.
  5. Here is a link to the show: http://www.history.com/shows/top-guns/videos/top-guns-shotgun-shootout#top-guns-shotgun-shootout Numerous times they refer to Marines using the M4 and then cut to footage of a cut down pump (870 or 590). Then, when referring to the Nova's ease of disassembly they show an M4. Seriously, who produces these shows? Would've been nice to see them showcase the Nova's mag cutoff button for slug changeovers.
  6. Anyone here buy those off of gunbroker? Show yourselves! LOL
  7. I have used that round through the modified choke the gun comes with. No issues.
  8. So these are in shops now??? Mind sharing how much you paid:cool:
  9. This has been my experience too.
  10. Local sporting goods chain has these on sale for $699. I fondled one and they seem very very light and high quality. I'm wondering if a benelli nova ext might fit one. Hmm.
  11. The bolt likes to be wet as others have said. Mine required about 125 rounds of the cheap wally mart loads before it would cycle them reliably (the federal bulk pack at least). A firm grip/hold also helps with the weak stuff. Last time out, mine only jammed when a small 16 year old boy didn't have it tight into his shoulder. But really, just buy the cheap walmart or imported buckshot and blast away
  12. Looks nice. Good job putting the collapsible stock to use.
  13. If the gun is ghost loaded, there will be a round in the chamber and one on the carrier. Two cycles of the bolt via pulling back on the handle will clear them both out. To unload the tube (assuming no round is in the chamber or carrier) you have two methods: 1. Push the shell drop lever to eject a round onto the carrier. Work the action twice to raise the shell from the carrier into the chamber and then extract it from the chamber. Repeat for each remaining round in the tube. 2. Push in on the shell catch to release one round from the magazine tube at a time until empty.

    ? on ammo

Keep it well lubed (bolt rails etc.) with the provided benelli oil and you should be fine.
  15. If you do a search there have been several threads on buckshot and slug choices. I think any quality buckshot that is plated will work. Even low recoil. I've fed mine the cheap slugs/buckshot from walmart with zero issues of any kind. In my experience, the flitecontrol wads don't offer much advantage out of the M4's factory modified choke.
  16. You have an excellent wife.
  17. You could try Larry's Guns but their site seems to be down.
  18. I am using a Specter Gear 3pt. I just threaded the attachment strap through the slot instead of the sling plate on the factory stock. http://www.spectergear.com/benelli_cqb_sling.htm They also sell slings that allow you to adjust the length near the forearm for shoulder transitions.
  19. If I remember correctly, I didn't remove the stock all of the way. I just loosened the bolt far enough to rotate the stock 90 degrees out of the way so that the trigger guard could be pulled free.
  20. I used a deep socket extension with a 13mm socket to take my buddy's stock off.
  21. They will ease up with use. I can do it easily both on my M4s and Nova. They can be very stiff. Try using a bic pen to push down on it. Once you get the hang of what is going on, you could try using your middle finger. I find that works easiest.
