Not posting this to question anyone's opinions or $anity regarding a folding stock -- just wondering about its utility and if that's the reason for the overwhelming demand. Is it because that's what the M4 is supposed to come with -- it makes the gun complete? Weight savings? Cool factor or do some shooters find adjusting the length-of-pull fits them better? Living in Rep of Cali I can't use a folding stock so I have not experience with it. My 11707 did come equiped with a 3 position receiver tube, so if we ever re-join the Union and the prices come down I may get one.1 point

When I first started researching the M4 a few years back, I honestly thought the collapsable stock looked odd. Last Feb, I came across a M1014 US flag model w fixed collapsable stock at Sportsmans warehouse. Once I started seeing the various forum member builds and comments about the middle position being right length of pull in combination w RMR and Scalerworks mount, etc etc, I've slowly been moving in that direction. Finally, I have accumulated the parts and I am all set up to switch out neutered recoil tube w the 3 position. A shout out to SD for his extensive photo essay tutorials and advice/postings from various forum members! I'll post pictures.1 point

I've owned a number of the C-stocks over the years, no longer have one, it does nothing for me. The only benefit I can possibly see is shorter stock position when wearing body armor.1 point

I saw those pics over on social media. I kind of cringed when I saw it because that is one part I haven’t changed out yet for that reason after going thru the forum topics. I don’t have big meaty construction hands so I will be going with the 1/2” handle when I get to it. At least anyone that sees his M4 knows he shoots it and means business!1 point

It is not super aggressive, which I like - the points in the pattern are wide and flat. I would think you would have a tough time tearing up a hand or glove on it. Edges are turned down nicely and smooth as the pattern drops off. Pricey upgrade but is a nice piece of kit.1 point

One that I don't own but to me rivals the status of the M4, is a Mag-10 Roadblocker. I'd love to chuck some 00 outta one of those...1 point

I've only got two other shotguns models aside from Benelli. Remington 1100LW .410 with 4 barrel set (they were all fixed choke in that era) Savage 24. I've got several of these. The one I use the most is 22/410. I've got a couple others that I inherited. I don't really care for them but keeping them out of respect.1 point

Just the remnants of a cheap old Davidson 16ga. I call it my Yosemite Sam relic. Those of you old enough to remember the Luney Tune cartoons (Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, Wile E Coyote ect. ect.) years ago can relate.1 point

The M4 is not recoil operated like the M1/2/3, it is gas operated.1 point

My M4's run the 1125fps reduced-recoil Remington STS skeet stuff just fine. First rounds I ran through most of them. The trick is to lubricate the weapon properly. Run it wet like an AR with TW25B or LaRue MG lube or Slip2000 EWL or something similar.1 point

Yup these guys have the knowledge. I have about 2500K through my short barrel (10") and now it will cycle anything, even with 8.5" of pressure building barrel cut off (all legal and above board with a Form 4 and the blessing of my GOD, my Country, my Mom and the BATFE). But... ... . if you know my mom and she asks, kinda, like, change the subject or something, she wants me to find a wife and a bigger house and well, those things cost money you know? Regards, -d1 point

yes run your m4 wet.. and break it in with a few hundred rounds of high power.. mine runs like a dream with crap 2 3/4 ammo Ciao1 point

Most people will suggest using heavy loads until you break it in. Also what seems to help is keeping your M4 well lubricated... very well lubricated1 point

One of the pros on this forum recommended three hundred rounds of bird shot, prior to the the #7's or 8's. Followed his recommendation and now no issue with value pack ammo.1 point

you have to remember these guns cycle off recoil... you have to be holding the gun in the right position in your shoulder with a firm hold and you shouldnt have a problem with the light loads.-1 points
