Glad you're on the mend. Did you say how this happened? Nothing better than learning from someone else's mistakes. The it's no pain and all gain.

You would order the Beretta mobile choke.

I actually do use a mouth call then, but I've had the call since I was born.

I had the VX-III 3.5-10 X 50 on my R1 and the high rings gave ample clearance, not the x-high. That being said, your desired amount of eye relief could come into play. As you can see from this photo, the scope's steep tube angle on the objective end was preventing me from moving it any farther back. It was never an issue for me, as the scope was positioned where I wanted it. Perhaps the x-high rings would give you a bit more freedom in positioning it. I like keeping the scope as low as possible.

The high rings should work fine with that scope. I like the Burris Signature rings. The inserts correct any minor alignment issues without the need for lapping and they leave no ring marks. You will definitely need to use the factory supplied base, because it has the right amount of elevation correction built in. I tried a standard BAR base and ran out of adjustment.

Use a work-around for posting the images. http://tinyurl.com/ckty9r Not sure if it will work with the IMG tag. Let's see..... Yup. That seems to work.

The gun is worth whatever someone will pay for it. You can look around on gunbroker.com and get a pretty good idea of its value. Posting it on a forum like this or 24hourcampfire will get your ad in front of the right people. It's a seller's market with all the fear of new gun bans being spread around.

Duggan, A cybersleuth you are not. Just go to his website. It's all there. -
In my state, lead shot is legal for all game except migratory waterfowl. Thanks for playing.

pros and cons to intertia driven systems and gas blowback systems
tucker301 replied to Shotguns "R" us's topic in Benelli
I've never tried the concrete wall test, but I have seen my SBEII fail with lighter loads when fired from the hip. The closest one can get to the brick wall scenario in the field is to attempt a shot at 180 degrees (straight up). In this case, the skeletal structure aligns in such a way that there will be little to no give when the gun is fired. I have seen Inertia guns stovepipe in such cases. -
Don't know. If you don't get an answer here, simply remove the screw and take it to a machinist and ask him to gauge it for you. Or for just a few dollars.... http://www.boltdepot.com/Thread-Gauges.aspx

Assuming a cheap scope like a Simmons or Tasco, the values are pretty close to equal. That being said, if you want a deer rifle, then sell the Nova and buy a Savage 110 in .300 WM or whatever caliber floats your boat. You WILL get a more accurate and better built rifle off the bat.

The DU thing doesn't add much value to cheaper guns. What brand and model scope was on the rifle? A good piece of glass can easily exceed the cost of the rifle, although I doubt that will be the case on a DU dinner Mossberg.

You working on the bucket list already? Some things are better left undone.

A couple of things you can do. 1. Buy a cheap 3/8" drive socket that barely fits inside the tube, but with some play. Sand the chrome finish off the socket and leave the bare metal surface as rough as possible. Clean and degrease the inside of the choke tube and rough it up with coarse sandpaper as well. Using a quality epoxy like Brownells Acraglass or Brownells Steel Bed, affix the socket inside the tube and let it cure for at least 48 hours. Once cured, insert a 3/8" drive into the socket and give it a twist. You may want to chuck the barrel in a protected vise to gain more leverage. Don't squeeze the barrel. Simply clamp it down at the magazine tube ring to prevent it from twisting. 2. Locate a machine shop in your area that has good equipment and skilled personnel. Take another tube with you for reference and ask them to cut the stuck tube down to with a few thousandths and chip it out for you. I share an office with such a machine shop, and those guys could make short work of the project.

sepp, That's a very good job of describing the normal way every Benelli Inertia gun functions. Thanks for clearing up what he was talking about.

Personally, I'd discretely ship the gun via UPS to a friend in advance. Reverse procedure for coming home. Those UPS triangle-shaped shipping boxes are perfect for making a long arm a two piece delivery that looks like nothing like a gun.

Callous and hurtful remarks. About 5 minutes in GIS & Photoshop.

Oops! Try a 10402 instead.

I'd guess that the Sport II stock and forend would fit it, but Benelli CS can say for sure.
